Isms? No, it better be for the welfare of the people

Twitter in India is like a warzone nowadays with JNU problems, the Bollywood style Maharashtra political dramas, and whatnot.

The rest of the world is no different.

Whether it is capitalism or socialism, are the people happy?

Whatever isms there are, it would be best to remember to provide good facilities for the citizens and then try to look good for the sake of the world.

Whether you belong to Russia, Holland, Italy, France, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Nigeria, India or China or Bangladesh, or any other country in this small world of ours,

think hard about your respective governments.

Do they provide hassle-free medical treatment?

Do they provide free education at the primary level?

Do they give support to the elderly, the homeless and the helpless?

Do they even care about keeping the rivers and lakes clean?

Do they make sure that the youth are not led astray by putting forth good programs?

Do they make sure that the meritorious students get college admissions without having to pay for it or pay a huge sum to study abroad in order to avail good facilities?

Life is a struggle for the present generation. You may think that technology has made it cool but I disagree. The tech gadgets may make traveling easier, the mobiles make communication better but the hurry and the worry are deteriorating the standards of life.

Families are trying hard to stay together. Children are impatient and intolerant. Crimes are increasing and money is easy.

In the past decades, hand me downs were not frowned upon but now, clothes are cheap and so people often buy clothes just as they buy groceries. Beggars used to wear torn clothes but now, rich people pay a huge sum to buy torn clothes.

Frankly speaking, as I get older, I am getting intolerant of all the people who are hypocrites. The canvassing in the name of religion seems too much. God is love and so we must learn to love people in spite of their color or race.

Every human is entitled to freedom and opinion. Nobody has the right to force anything on others.

An atheist who does good to others is more dear to God than a believer who is a racist.

Let me cite a story from our Puranas.

During a huge mela or gathering, Lord Shiva and his wife Goddess Parvati came to visit, incognito. The goddess asked her lord as to who would merit entrance into heaven. He told her that he would act as if he was drowning in the river and she had to call out to someone to rescue him but on the condition that the rescuer should not have committed sin. She agreed and they jumped into the river. The lord acted as if he were drowning and the goddess shouted for help. All the people gathered but when they heard the condition that the rescuer should be sin-free, they hesitated and drew back.

At that time, a robber was passing that way and he assessed the situation quickly. Without thinking about sin or such things, he jumped straight into the river and rescued the lord who was in the guise of an elderly man. The Lord and the Goddess turned in to their true form and blessed the robber. He had earned his entry into heaven because he was not bothered about assessing his character and instead jumped into the river without bothering about the consequences and saved the Lord who was in the guise of an old man.

In the same way, we should not bother about what the color or religion or race is and instead try our best to do what we can to
