Learning from failures - The splinterlands saga

avatar
(Edited)

It is not often that I write about my experiences in splinterlands but I felt it was necessary to write about my journey and my struggles to reach higher levels in the game. Most players write about it and even record their gains.

I, on the other hand, felt it was very time consuming but now realize that if I had done it, I would have been able to learn from the experiences and become better.

For example, if we just play and move on after the fifth defeat, we will forget about what caused the defeat after two days but if on the other hand, we write about it, we will be more careful and not repeat it again.

Lack of good cards in death sector

The haunted spirit and the lord of darkness and the animated corpse were all monsters that were ignored by me but as I proceeded to the champ level, I realized that the high-level players still use the beta version a lot and my new-gen version of untamed and reward are not enough to battle those monsters.

Strategy

It is important to place the cards carefully and not just use all your maxed cards in a haphazard manner which is why I could easily defeat a maxed card account a few days ago. The opponent had all maxed cards but I was able to defeat his because he had not paid attention to the cards he used nor to the rules. As I pointed out earlier, I should have recorded it so that I could learn from it.

Death quest

I started to do the death quest and did win a battle using my level 3 Zintar but then soon lost battles in succession and I ended up refreshing it to get a life quest which is easier nowadays with my silver shield assassin and the baby unicorn which I leveled up after reading @xawi's advice but then also I won once and am losing. I do hope to complete the quest without sliding down too much as I have been doing the past few days and it is frustrating.

Frustration? - get up and walk away

When you lose too many battles, frustration starts to kick in and you lose your cool. The best thing is to get up and walk away and do something else and then, later on, sit down and start playing fresh.

Creativity

If you like to own splinterlands stuff and do not dare dream of spending money, get creative and start using your tools and @diy things to make your own splinterlands creations like logos on Tshirts, keychains and knitted scarves and the like.

The goal is to spread the word about the game and make other people aware of the magical game that you are so dedicated to and invite new players.

On that note, I have to appreciate new players who touched diamond level in their first season itself and if you have extra cards that lay unused and you do not want to sell, lease or use, please delegate to @badfinger @backpackingmonk and @udezee and @dijin

:thought:
How about a thrill instead of frustration? Every time I get a string of defeats I know I always return with a longer string of consecutive wins. A kind of circle of life in Splinterlands way.

Cheers!

@sayee That is game. The higher you go the greater is the challenge. And the challenge is what everyone is seeking. You probably would decimate my level player with a pixie, Flame monkey, Ant miner, and a chicken. LOL

And mostly I don't think I have properly thanked you for getting me into the game. So 'A Big Thank You.'
