Listening to music

When we guys, in IU were discussing writing and how some did not want to have disturbance, @inuke replied that he loved to hear music while writing. He also shared a Spotify link. I tried to open it and I had to install the app on my mobile to hear it completely.

Like Inuke, I too am fond of listening to music when doing my writing or just about everything, actually. No, I do not take my device to the bathroom of course. Thanks to him, I can now listen to whatever song I like without that dreaded thing - ads.

Of course, I do have that Amazon music app. I am now seriously thinking of uninstalling it. Mobile storage is also an issue. When I compared the music that these two apps offer me, I found the music quality of Spotify way better than Amazon. I am not sure if it is because of the technical perfection of the app or just the difference between trying out a new product. Anyways, the choice of music is very vast and I am now listening to songs I thought I would never be able to listen to again like the 'hits of Mukesh' and Saigal. I know we can search for it on Youtube but the presence of ads and the fact that we have to keep the app open in order to listen and not use the mobile for anything else is a put-off. I am not sure if you have noticed but YouTube stops the music after half an hour and asks us if we want to continue playing the songs. I guess it is good for those who switch on the app when trying to sleep but on music apps, there is no disturbance and of course, we do not have to keep it open - I mean we cannot minimize the YT app.

Other than Hindi songs and mostly from the past century, I also listen to music from the west like ABBA, BoneyM, Carpenters, and instrumentals like Yanni and so on. Many a youngster may not even have heard of the above-mentioned names but it's okay. I agree that I am old but if possible check them out and decide if you like their music.

My dad introduced me to Hindi classics from the old Bollywood music or the movies from Bombay as it was then called. Songs by Mukesh, Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Saigal, and Manna Dey are all names that were imprinted in my heart and I remember buying him a cassette of Mohammad Rafi songs for him sometime before he passed away.

Music is a means of escaping the harsh realities of life and it is also helpful to calm down. Yea, I like to listen to that song by Rema. It became so popular that they played it for the closing ceremony of the world cup. It was really heartwarming to see Rema trying hard not to cry when his fans sang his song instead of him while on the stage.

Music is universal and is not limited by any geographical barrier or language.

Shout out to our own musicians - the @stickupboys on Hive. Check them out.

People are really different. I feel distracted listening to music while writing or reading.
But I enjoy it when I feel like resting. Like I can play music while sleeping and I will feel very fine with it.

Nice share dear

I really like to listen to music in my free time, but I don't like to do anything else while listening to music, it takes my attention away from the music.
