Bread & Honey - Leicester

Hail to the Hive!

Yesterday I took a long 8 mile walk from the boat into the city centre. Upon arrival I realised I had an hour spare before my pre arranged appointment, so what to do? What to do? As I paused for a moment to think about the best use of this hour I noticed this cafe

Bread & Honey

I took a closer look and it had the right vibe for me. Had a down to earth vibe that enables relaxing.

Closer still I went. At this point I realised that not unlike the Death Star in Star Wars this cafe had me in it's caffeine powered tractor beam and I had no choice

I was going in!

Once through the door I was immediately at ease and relaxed with the chilled out tunes and rustic decor. The Interior wooden paneling actually reminded me a lot of our Narrowboat Badger. Very similar indeed.

I am going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess that these pictures may well be of the owners. I must ask next time I pop in here.

I quickly perused the menu and even though I drink pretty much black coffee religiously at home I do like to treat myself if I am out and about in the morning to a nice Cappuccino.

and as I'd just walked over 8 miles I think a pain au chocolate may be in order. Will go beautifully with my coffee.

There were a few tables taken and as I was alone I perched on the side bar out of the way and soaked in the atmosphere , which I was liking, and started to tuck into my purchases.

The cappuccino was divine. Smooth, rounded and rich with no nasty bitter after taste so they were taking care of the equipment and producing a coffee of quality. The pain au chocolate was also super delicious and fresh. Another good sign. I was starting to realise this little unplanned pit stop was turning into a proper treat.

I enjoyed the coffee so much that I decided to indulge in a second and as the cafe had cleared of a few tables I moved my perch to the window so I could sip and enjoy a good street scene people watch which is something I love to do and have not done for quite some time.

Allowing my mind to wander and think about random things, ponder our current situation on the boat and then mind wander into thoughts of possible plans for the future as the world passes by before my eyes. I need to do this again one time. I am long overdue an extended cafe morning with laptop, pastries and coffee in a nice cafe. This place made me realise how much I miss it.

As I eventually got up to leave I spied the bags of coffee for sale and thought this shoud give me a reason to pop back in here. I know I have to come into town soon to see a friend so this may be my port of call and a bag of coffee is in my future, I can feel it.

@millycf1976 is in town today and I recommended the place to her if she has time to squeeze in a cafe visit. I hope she does.

I for sure will return as I feel I've just discovered a little chill out spot for when we visit Leicester.

Hello, I really liked your publication, that coffee looks very nice, and as you describe that it is relaxing even better, I have always thought that when you decide to take a coffee out of home is because you want to feel a tranquility to be in places like that, maybe alone or with company, but enjoy the moment is special, the place looks very nice and everything they offer looks rich, but the best thing is the coffee that looks delicious.

It really was. Sometimes you have a coffee when out and it’s just ‘ok’ but this was really good. They obviously care about their product. I really liked the place too

Looks like a cool spot. The bee logo and symbology is definitely a plus for a Hive post as well.

A cappuccino and pain au chocolat is a great way to treat yourself. Good choice. 👍

The place looks awesome indeed. I didn't get the chance to pop in today, but I will next week Wednesday. I have a few hours to kill in between my appointments, and this looks like the perfect place:)))

The sun is limiting its appearances this year so it was nice to see it out

Besides the cafe, I loved the art that is set in the cafe, plus the name is so minimalist and so appealing :D

Hi @scubahead you have posted some very nice pictures of the place, it looks quite quiet and cozy, it is very nice to have a coffee watching through a window people passing by , the coffee has a very good presentation which means it was surely very tasty and the cake looks quite fresh 😉.
