Don’t Look Down! - Monomad Challenge

Hail to the Hive!

When I am zipping about with the drone I love the ability to grab shots that would be unattainable in any other way. Where there are no buildings or viewpoints you can hang the drone there and scope out the vicinity selecting the angles and shots you never dreamed possible. But I think my favourite views are the ones that look directly down. Straight down to the ground.

I just like the perspective and how suddenly everything is in 2D and looks divided up and cars and people look like toys. It barely looks real and sometimes when you have manipulated thenimage it can look like an oil painting.

I also like the texture changes you get between buildings, roads, vegetation, rocky coastlines and water. Capturing the separation, the divide between these mediums is worth the investment in this little flying photographic tool. i say tool as it most definitely isn’t a toy, even if I sometimes jokingly refer to it as such.

It really is a useful weapon in my imagery arsenal. And one that gives a unique vantage point.

It is an excellent work. I have always liked these shots because they are like drawings of our micro-world. From above we look like ants, don't we? We always live so carefree because we don't know the foot of the giant. 🥴🤣💯

Haha exactly. Makes you see “our world” in a very different way. We look insignificant
