Hail to the Hive!

I mentioned in yesterdays post how our flight had been cancelled and then rebooked for three hours later but we were unable to change the bus tickets to the airport, so……

This means we have alot of time to kill at Heathrow.

So I have found myself staring at the terminal walls, ceilings, windows and these quite amazing support structures holding up the roof.

Now I have had a lot of strange looks from people in a rush or waiting for their planes as they observed me taking photos of, what seems to them, nothing of interest but I CARE NOT!

I quite like finding things to photograph that many wouldn’t give a second look and these are pretty cool looking. I love the robust industrial look of them. I could almost imagine them coming to life like a tranformer. Optimus Delayed Departure 😄.

We were on the top floor of the terminal and from these angles it was difficult to show the sheer scale of them and I am too scared of heights to lean over the barrier and look down so you will have to trust me, they are very big.

And from all angles make interesting shots.

We have 5 hours to kill though so I’m not sure they are going to keep me entertained for that long so hopefully I can find something else to grab my interest. A good start though.

This is one of those times that I love #hive for giving a purpose to otherwise dead time.
