My Dirty Weekend

Hail to the Hive!

Ok this isn't going to be that kind of 'Dirty Weekend' so let's get that straight from the outset πŸ˜‰. Well it might be, but just not in this post.

The weather has turned into full on spring loveliness and there's a bunch of stuff I've been putting off as it's just been too damned cold, wet & miserable to tackle.

My Engine Bay.

Now when we had the engine replaced last year I prepped ,treated and painted the bay and it looked superb! I swore I'd stay on top of it and keep it looking spick and span and all that jazz and did I? errrrr nope. It rained and water got in and somehow leaves and dirt find their way in and a little bit of oil spilling here and there over the winter and as much as the bilge pumps keep the bay from flooding the thin layer of oily watery dirty soup soon starts to make it look pretty messy and horrible. So todays mission is tomake a start and get all the water out and make some sense of the mess

Don't I look happy to be getting in there on a lovely sunny Sunday?

First things first, clear the decks, remove the decks and clear the engine bay of any items stored inside as I will need room to move.

I keep looking up and seeing a glorious sunny day on the canal that I could be enjoying but no. I'm deep in da crap getting stuff straight.

But hang on. Look at the difference. Hmmmm

This is why!

Now it's starting to look all sorta nearly clean again. I really need to keep on top of this now as it will be a lot less work if I do it more redularly. This is giving me the motivation I need to crack on with the re painting of Badger the Narrowboat now. If the weather holds up I may make a start on that too.

I can do more stuff tomorrow and now I am all motivated I will start a bit earlier and take my coffee outside with me and drink as I go. Oooh talking of drink there's still a bit of sunshine left today
