Hail to the Hive!

Everyone loves an old classic don’t they, I know I do, and the VW Camper is one of those old classics we all recognize and love for a variety of different reasons.

When I saw this little old beauty while wandering the backstreets of Giza I had to stop and capture a shot or twenty. Clearly she has seen some action and has seen better days, yet somehow her character and personality shine through.

Still in use as a taxi in Cairo, battle scarred and dented. Badges fallen off, paint scraped off and still in action. A real old classic but in much need of some care and attention.

Yet despite the scars, scrapes and dents, she still stands out. Immediately grabs your attention such is the nature of an old classic. She wears the scars proudly like an old warrior displaying battle wounds from wars of yesteryear. The other vehicle’s barely get a glance and yet she is noticed and still admired. We see an old classic but still imagine her previous beauty.

And to me she is still beautiful and has a depth of character the other vehicles could only dream of.
