Temporary Moorings - Monomad Challenge

Hail to the Hive!

We finally have a new floating home and @millycf1976 has moved in right away while I shuttle back an k from Newton Abbot bringing our belongings slowly over to be stowed away neatly and in an organised manner. Something Milly is very good at and I errrrr well I’m not.

It’s quite a contrast from our previous stint living on the canals aboard Narrowboat Badger as we were on the move constantly, moored wherever we chose.

This time we’ve elected to use a marina while we get ourselves sorted out and familiar with everything. It’s a nice spot with good facilities, laundry, showers etc a pub next door 😃 and not to far from the town centre. It is a nice small town but more about that another time.

We even have access to a shore power hook up which makes life sooooo much easier not having to charge up the leisure batteries with the engine or by solar ( which this time of year is errrr pants really).

It’s still very peaceful and relaxing with only a little background marina activity, it seems not all the boats moored here have permanent lvaboards on them so its quiet and still the majority of the time.

But just around the corner we can see others moored up just the way we used to be, out in the wilds so to speak.

I do kind of miss that type of freedom though. I’m sure we will be doing a bit of that soon.

But for now we will enjoy the marina lifestyle, while it lasts.

Love a bit of #monomad 😜

It must be a great experience to be there. I liked the place and these backlit photos, especially the sharper contrast of blacks on whites.

Nice shots @scubahead friend! Have a great weekend 🛥️☀️

Thanks @dimascastillo90 . Very kind of you to comment. I do love black and white and I'm happy to be back in a boating setting on the canals as I think there's so many great opportunities here for taking shots.

Soooo glad I seen this post. Adjusting my notifications to try not to miss any postings. I loved following Your "Badger Chronicles."

My fave was that awesome canal bridge. You gotta do that again. That was freaky.!!

Like me crossing the Mackinaw for my first and only time in Northern Michigan. Or the Virginia Bay Bridge Tunnel. Always a thrill. Till you get to the toll booth. Lmao 🤣😂🤣

Say hey to Mills. Safe travels and no leaks.
