Slow and steady march towards 50K Hive Power

Sometime this month I am going to hit 50K HP! As you can see I am powering up all the free hive that I have available from time to time those green portions of the vertical bars. You can also see that I have gained almost three and a half thousand HP in just the last thirty days. Most of it came from Author and curation rewards and 743 HP can from my Hive Witness rewards.

This picture above shows really clearly that the biggest source of my increasing Hive Power is still author rewards. Those blue curation rewards are starting to look like something as well almost competing with my Witness rewards that are shown as purple portion of the bar.

This ability to accumulate tokens is what is nice about Hive, other altcoins don't really let you accumulate their coins in any significant way unless you are willing to pay real dollars for them and there is no guarantee that any of these altcoins are going to go up in value, but at least with Hive you can accumulate without investing fiat.

This chart above is the result of my Hive Power accumulation over the last three years. On August 8, 2023 I was at 865 Hive Power and now I am steadily approaching fifty thousand Hive Power. As you can see the growth was steady without any major spikes, that is just what happens if you are consistent on Hive.

Obviously Hive needs more users and that has been the same problem since the very beginning, for some reason Hive has not been as successful as Web 2 platforms at attracting new users. But we also don't have an environment where Web 3 has really gone mainstream. The case can be made that Bitcoin is now somewhat mainstream as it is now available to general public via ETFs. But crypto as a whole is still viewed as some scam.

So I am going to keep accumulating Hive and patiently wait for the time where crypto once again becomes the hot narrative and hopefully then we have a giant altcoin season where crypto becomes really mainstream. Who knows perhaps the major social media platforms decide that they need to get on the blockchain and then it would be peanuts for someone like Facebook to just buy the already working Web 3 platform that is Hive.

The total market cap of Hive is now around twenty two million dollars, that is nothing in the mainstream asset capitalization also at its peak the market cap for Hive has exceeded a billion dollars! If Hive were to increase ten times in it's market cap it would still be less than a quarter of it's all time high market cap. Ten times from these levels is forty cents for Hive and we were at sixty cents just last year.

So it would seem like a twenty fold increase in value for Hive to something like eight cents is not out of the question when crypto becomes hot again. Naturally I don't expect this to happen anytime soon, but if we are talking about several years from now then anything is possible. Crypto just like traditional markets follows cycles, right now we are in a downcycle, but eventually an up cycle is going to come around and when that happens I will be ready.

In the next couple years I plan to stay active and keep stacking my Hive Power, if I keep up the rate of accumulation close to what it is now I should be easily over one hundred thousand Hive stacked and that should be worth something when we have another altcoin season. And I believe that it is not a question of if, but a question of when.
