Hello beer lovers! 🍻

Another very busy week :( and I have to admit that I am getting tired of it all. I can't stand being on the go for 16-18 hours anymore, I'm not that young no more. I need rest.
Or at least some work where I don't have to think too much.

Today was such a day. Sunny, not too warm, with a little breeze, just the right time to plant tomatoes, chilies, and peppers.

And now, pleasantly, not too tired, mostly thirsty, I'm going to have two beers for the 308th #beersaturday. One Bosnian and one Czech, they've been chilling in the fridge all day.

Baraba Lager

Brewed by Banjalučka Pivara, Banja Luka, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.2 % ABV. It's Lager style beer, malty, and without strong flavors.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Baraba is a new beer, and it's intended for everyone who lives life according to their own rules. Baraba light beer has an extremely striking and recognizable design, and a visual identity. It's a slow-fermented lager beer, characterized by freshness and drinkability, which is created by overtime fermentation of beer at higher temperatures. In this way, the beer breaks down the ingredients more slowly, which makes the beer fuller and filled with pleasant aromas.

I lived in Banja Luka for a while (a very nice place at that time, must admit), but more than 30 years ago, and I remember a beer called Nektar from the same brewery, which is not worth mentioning.

The beer is golden in color and the head is solid. It has no smell. It goes down the throat smoothly, I taste malt, bread, and hay, and the bitterness of the hops is somewhere far in the background, in the aftertaste it all disappears quickly.

What can I say? A drinkable lager and nothing else to remember. It's nothing special, I'll probably forget it quickly. Besides, Baraba means Bad guy in English.

I mentioned that I planted chilies today (among other things). 4 seedlings, we'll see what happens in autumn. The one in the picture is the strongest.

Primátor Tchyně

Brewed by Pivovar Náchod (LIF), Náchod, Hradec Králové Region, Czech Republic.
can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.7% ABV, 34 IBU.
It's India Pale Lager (IPL) or Hoppy Pale Lager style, hop-forward with a clean lager finish.

What do the Master Brewers say?

TCHYNĚ means mother-in-law. It may bother you at first, but you wouldn’t give it up for anything. It combines two beer styles - lager and IPA. Infusion brewed lager, hopped on the brewhouse with new Czech and cold American hop varieties. An unfiltered, incredibly drinkable beer with a beautiful golden-copper colour, rich head and unmistakable aroma of American hops. It's just SO good - you're embarrassed at first, but then you don't want another!
Hops: Ruby, Harmonie, Vital (CZ), dry hopping Summit, Citra.
Malt: Pilsner, Munich, Caramel

That sounds cool. Most of the Czech beers I have tried so far have been very good. I bought this beer in a shop near the Czech-Austrian border. This combination of IPA and lager is interesting.

The beer is dark golden in color, the head is solid and creamy, and it smells of hops and citrus.
A sip goes down the throat smoothly and the palate immediately develops a quite pronounced hop bitterness and citrus flavor, followed by hay and a little caramel. The malt sweetness comes later and is not very pronounced.
The bitterness of the hops and the sweetness of the malt remains in the aftertaste for some time.

Refreshing and drinkable, a very balanced combination. Well, I get on well with my mother-in-law too :)
I would have had it in the fridge, if for no other reason than to offer it to my mother-in-law or her daughter 😊, but unfortunately it is not available here.
