Beer Tasting 🍺 Kilkenny Irish Red 🍻 Aldersbacher Urhell

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

How are you?
It's finally raining here! After a month of drought, it's been pouring for two days now, and the temperature has dropped, too.
It's a great way to cool off, and a beer goes down well, too.

I have two cans in front of me—one Irish and one German. Both are nice and cold. I’m looking forward to finishing them off and sharing the beer experience with you.
After all, it’s #beersaturday :)

🍻 😎 🍻

Kilkenny Irish Red

Brewed by Guinness, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.
Can, 0.44 l, alcohol 4.3%, IBU N/A. Irish red ale style.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Also sold as Kilkenny Draught. First Brewed 1710 St Francis Abbey. Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale, with its deep red hue and rich, creamy head, delivers a distinctively smooth and flavourful taste.

I’ve tasted it a few times before, on tap, a few years back. I thought it was great back then. But I didn’t know it was brewed at the Guinness brewery.

The beer is a light brown or amber color; it has a very rich, creamy head that eventually subsides. It has a malty aroma. It goes down smoothly; on the palate, I detect a slight caramel sweetness, a hint of biscuit, and a mild bitterness.
All of these flavors fade quickly in the finish.

It’s still really good and tasty!
Thanks to the nitrogen, it has a smooth, creamy head and a soft mouthfeel. It’s not very complex, but it’s pleasant to drink. Because of the lower alcohol content, you can drink a few more. I would, but I only have one. Lately, you can find it in all the local stores here, priced between €1.90 and €2.20. I’m sure I’ll have a few more in my fridge before long.

🍻 😎 🍻

Let’s head to Germany!

Aldersbacher Urhell

Brewed by Brauerei Aldersbach, Aldersbach, Bayern, Germany.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.1% ABV, IBU 18. Lager-Helles style.

What do the Master Brewers say?

The flavors have notes of spicy floral, white pepper, and light herbal. The malt profile has more character, too, with notes of biscuits and crackers. Very smooth drinking, light and flavorful. Mouthfeel is smooth and finishes dry.

The Aldersbach Brewery is one of the oldest in the world, with an 800-year tradition, and its beers regularly win awards, so I can't wait.

The beer is a sunny yellow color; the head is average and fades quickly. It has no distinct aroma. It goes down smoothly; on the palate, I detect a mild sweetness from the malt, fresh bread, a subtle bitterness, and a slight spiciness from the herbs.
A slight bitterness lingers in the aftertaste.

A very drinkable and refreshing beer!
A clean and balanced lager, a traditional Bavarian Helles for everyday drinking. I’d have another one right away! But I don’t have any :(
It’s not available here; I bought it at a Plodine store in Croatia for a reasonable €1.50. I’d love to have this one in my fridge, too.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Nothing from my Friday's #newtunes (since I didn't post it). Lately, I've been listening to a lot of music on an online service Scrobble.life (by @acidyo), but mostly the stuff I post myself. Here's one such gem, a live cover of a Velvet song.

Thank you for your attention.

Great job finishing the daily Ecency leaderboard quest, @seckorama! Nothing beats a cold beer while listening to the sound of steady rain.
