Grateful Dead - RFK Stadium - June 10, 1973

Hello, music lovers! πŸ“» 🎧 🎀 🎢 🎼 πŸ“’

The band Grateful Dead left us an exceptional music collection. The vast majority of their musical works have become timeless and part of the world’s musical heritage.

grateful1.gif

Why am I writing left? Archive.org has the largest archive of their songs and concerts. All are freely available,in various music formats. (ogg vorbis, flac, mp3, torrent). More than 15,000 pieces ...

There are also a lot of recorded concerts. This video footage consists of four short documentaries.

(Unsupported https://archive.org/embed/MonteBarrygd73-06-10.AUD.fob.barry.flac)

You can watch the movie directly in archive.org if your Hive UI don't have Archive.org support.

All their archives are accessible under (CC BY 2.5) license.

In short, I find it necessary and worthwhile to portray a completely different time that we remember and have experienced, and our children won't know or feel about it, except from archived content like this one.

Unfortunately, no. The last concert in Europe they have in 1981. Not sure if the Dead have concerts in Europe ... but my first albums I bought together with gramophone were GD Terrapin station and Flight Log of Jefferson Airplane ...

did you ever have the chance to just listen to some bootlegs? I was blessed to be able to download 2500 soundboard bootlegs from 65-95 from pirate bay from a cat named harold mann - you might want to see if those are still available.

Yes, of course. @in2itiveart, here are 15 136 recordings, more or less all are bootlegs and live recordings by fans. You can download it all if you wish. 😎

actually I don't think you can because all the soundboards were called in by Grateful Dead Licensing to make Dick's Picks albums- and dAve's picks etc - but this guy harold mann knew Jerry would not approve of that and made all his bootlegs available on pirate bay. You can listen on archive but not download. You can get some good bootlegs on etree.org but again GD licensing does not want the soundboards out there because they want to release albums for sale...

hahahaha, the first video! In the first few minutes, it seems to be a kinda documentary about hippies, but then it turns into a super negative one about hippies. this narrator, the interviewer is so stupid in my opinion. I do agree with the guys of the Grateful Death that what we call 'drugs' can give the user a better grasp of life, higher level of self-awareness, increase of respects for anything and anyone, resulting in more love and peace. sometimes I wish a much larger part of the population, all those who are super ok with alcohol but totally against other drugs, actually tried it themselves. am pretty sure the world would be a better place when we would open our minds more to what life is about, instead of spending all our time in our own tunnels of everyday lives believing we shall focus on following the system and earning money. true happiness can and will not be found in the economy, or status, or whatever our systems let us believe.

Yeah, you're right, it's filmed talking about some freaks doing weird things. The documentary is a reflection of that time and the way the establishment saw this movement. But it’s funny from the current perspective.😎 😁

Well, it starts as being quite openminded and objective. But the last part of the video showed to true face of the intentions of the narrator and producer. Empty headed people, no substance and content etc etc. True fact is that the majority in most of our societies, still think as this narrator back inthe 60s. Nothing really changed.

But it’s funny from the current perspective.😎 😁

Absolutely!

Empty headed people, no substance and content etc.

Such people have always existed and will continue to do so. There is no help here, but there are a limited number but in all walks of life, 😎 about 10% I would say fast

True fact is that the majority in most of our societies, still think as this narrator back inthe 60s. Nothing really changed.

Well, I think there are some changes, but the minimal ones are almost invisible. Technological changes are visible very quickly, but social ones are lasting, they are like a slow, very slow process.
Perhaps, however, this pandemic is what can accelerate changes in a global society. But I don’t know if it will go for good or bad.

Owww when already at 10%, I'm positively surprised πŸ™ƒ

Perhaps, however, this pandemic is what can accelerate changes in a global society. But I don’t know if it will go for good or bad.

I really hope indeed this pandemic causes more people use their thoughts, rational, and all. Must say, I come across to many people who say "I have though this through, I use my brains, It's a Plandemic" and then continue to bombard the other with statement, interviews and all to try and convince they other that we are in a Plandemic instead of a Pandemic. That is the wrong outcome hahahaha But I do hope we have at least as many people, who think more objective. There seem to be no middle way possible anymore.

There seem to be no middle way possible anymore.

Yeah, that's true, whether you are for or against, that's all that's left, it's the same with us, it's become too extreme if you ask me ... and after almost all questions ... I hope we will agree at least that people should not be hungry, wet and barefoot.

Indeed, way too extreme. Strong B/W-opinions.

I hope we will agree at least that people should not be hungry, wet and barefoot.

I do hope so as well. But quite selfish mindset at many. That said: I agree! That's one less to go {LOL}

Well, it may be true that the decision is up to us whether we will take action or not, but in case non-compliance harms other people then there is no question of leaving such a decision to fools who only emphasize the right to think differently ...

True to that!
The problem in a democracy is that everyone has a voice.
I believe democracy is dead already. We have it on paper but in reality its nothing like democracy at all. That said, I also will not fall from my chair when more than half the population of any given country, cannot deal with true democracy. It requires everyone to take the role of a sceptic. Interestingly, crypto space requires the same from its stakeholders (large or small), to become sceptics. At some crazy day in kinda recent past, I wrote a post about that topic https://hive.blog/hive-122315/@edje/we-need-to-become-sceptics-or-those-who-claim-need-to-provide-proof-not-the-other-way-around

hm ... I still believe in democracy (probably because we lived under the Iron Curtain and we are, let's say, a young democracy), but I'm afraid you're right that somewhere half the population there is incapable of accepting true democracy. because it is exactly the same with us. Everything is black and white, half skeptical of anything. However, I think that the media have a big role in this, they have not yet been cleared of the Iron Curtain, but they are the same as yours, two poles and charging their agendas ... I could say that we have skipped that step of democratic normalcy ...

Media is something to blame for, but still. Even without media many people won't form their own opinion. I have first hand proof. Various of my friends ask me what party and which politician to vote for at the last so many national elections we had. In March we go for the next round and am waiting for those calls and requests again.

Something I wrote at one of those days (https://hive.blog/hive-174578/@edje/the-real-pandemic-chip-dating): I still think it's the reality, though it is conspiracy of nature. But one with a big heart ❀️

It's different here. With us, no one asks who I should vote for, everyone in their own way ...btw: good post about chip dating πŸ‘ πŸ‘ 😎

With us, no one asks who I should vote for, everyone in their own way

Am not sure of many ask others what to vote for in my country. I used this example to show how dead democracy is. Since democracy is based on each individual to decide who and what to vote for based on own analyses, not to copy/paste someone elses without thinking. The good: I always try to be as objective as I can get, espacially when I advice my friends (based on their own requests and questions) on national elections.

good post about chip dating πŸ‘ πŸ‘ 😎

Many thanks :)
