Hello music lovers! 🎡🎧🎡

The new portion of #newtunes sounds, songs, and melodies is available. Maybe some of this will be on your mind this coming weekend?

If you're curious and would like to hear about new music, read on and keep listening!

A few well-known and a few unknown artists from the crowd of musicians trying to get on the music pedestal have been ringing in my ears this week, leaving an impact that I have to write about in this post.

Don't worry, if there's something you can't stomach, you can just skip it.

🎡 🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

Tom Barry - Lighthouse

Tom Barry, the Irish singer, and songwriter released his first album "Lighthouse" at the end of April this year. A new name for me, but from the very first bars you can hear a sophisticated sense of melody. Love, melancholy, and nostalgia emerge from the slow piano and guitar chords.
In these modern times, that is exactly what we are missing. Thanks to @ablaze, the initiator of #threetunetuesday, who reminded me of it. I recommend.

🎡 🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

Sam Smith - Unholy (Orchestral Version)

Sam Smith or Samuel Frederick Smith, the controversial and award-winning British singer-songwriter, has had his biggest success yet with his latest single "Unholy" from his forthcoming fourth album "Gloria", due for release early next year, which has reached the number one many charts, including over 340 million streams on Spotify.
Well, basically, here is the new, orchestral version. Interesting.

🎡 🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

Gatuzo - Usamljeni put

Gatuzo, the alter rock trio from Zagreb, Croatia, which has a cult status in the country and the surrounding areas, is working on their sixth album, to be released early next year, with no name yet, but two singles already out. One of them is "Usamljeni put", which means "The lonely road" in English.
It's an original style of music, raw, guitar-driven, and at times explosive rock with subconscious touches of blues saxophone. Recommended.

🎡 🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

Devin Townsend - Heartbreaker

Devin Townsend, singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, is certainly one of Canada's musical elite. Musically, he is a mix of hard rock, progressive metal, ambient, and new-age music. His vocal range is remarkable, a full 5 octaves, which is very evident on the new album "Lightwork", which has been in the making for the last two years, i.e. during the pandemic.
Lots of keyboards, lots of melodies, rich orchestration, great vocals, and sharp guitars build a strong wall of sound that dominates the soundscape. And it's all well-arranged and superbly produced.

🎡 🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

Ana Pupedan - Du Ε‘empjtra

Ana Pupedan is a Slovenian rock/folk/punk collective with whom I've been personal friends for over thirty years. We have been through a lot together. That's why I have to mention them on the occasion of the release of their new, seventh album, "NaΕ‘i u kantini" (Ours in the cantina, in English).
The style of playing remains unchanged, the typical rockish, which every now and then goes off the road into some punk, jazz, and country fields.

🎡 🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

The Otolith - Andromedas Wing

The American band The Otolith is a new name for me. The album "Folium Limina" is their debut. Well, maybe I could mention that they are four members of the former SubRosa band that produced doom-metal sounds for the public. With the new member, they just continue the doom tradition on which they glue complementary musical genres.
The band's name is not random either, as Otoliths are the balance stones in the auditory organs. Humans and animals without these organs find it more difficult to perceive movement and orient themselves according to gravity.
They certainly sound a bit dull, but the proverbial doomerish sadness is continually washed away by a leaning toward the light.

🎡 🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

Ninos Du Brasil - A Caverna Dentro

Ninos Du Brasil is an Italian electro-percussion duo who, with their fourth album "Antro Pop", have dedicated themselves to a sonic blend of batucada and noisy punk, primordial techno, litanies, and onomatopoeia, all framed in electronic matrices.
They situate themselves in different artistic contexts, not only musical ones. Their performances have also been experienced by visitors to the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Marina Abramović Institute, and some of Chanel's fashion shows.

🎡 🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

The Brother Moves On - Bayakhala

The Brothers Moves On are first-class performers of South African jazz, hailing from the protest underground of Johannesburg.
A fusion of African, South African, and Western jazz music. The title of the most recent album, from which I chose this track, is also very meaningful "$/He Who Feeds You... Owns You".
Maybe my friend from those parts @joetunex would know more about them? I highly recommend it.

Lol I don't know the song but it sounds like Zulu language. Interesting to know you listen to South African song, maybe @humbe might know this song.

I listen to a lot of music, that's why I write #newtunes. And somewhere I came across this band and song and I like it :)

I like music as well, as long as they sound good to me, I don't necessary have to understand the language.

That's indeed a Zulu language which is the most spoken language in South Africa.

From their current 2022 album I realised I only know one song Sphila. Otherwise, they're a great band and most of their previous songs are critical shards of a fractured sonic, social and political inheritance.

I could tell it is Zulu but not sure lol. Interesting elaboration on them. Thanks
