Street Art Ljubljana 1
Hello, Street art fans! 😎📷
Here's my contribution to CCC's Street Art Contest #321.
About 10 days ago, I drove my wife to a doctor’s appointment in Ljubljana (the capital of Slovenia). I dropped her off at the hospital, and while she was at her appointment—which lasted about two hours—I took some time to walk around the city streets and watch murals.
Parts of Ljubljana are covered with graffiti; some pieces are more interesting than others.
The first thing that caught my eye on a walk was an apartment building—actually, Tabor Retirement Home—with birds depicted on its facade.

Once I’d located the building, I looked into it a bit more.
The project, “This Year, They Were United by Birds That Are Disappearing,” was part of the 2022 Young Lions Festival. It focused on environmental issues and endangered bird species.

The Belgrade-based collective Škart and the residents of the retirement home created the mural together. During workshops, the residents drew the birds themselves. These drawings were later transferred to the building’s facade as the official festival mural, reminding passersby of the importance of biodiversity.

Fantastic job on today's Ecency leaderboard quest, @seckorama!
Tipped with Ecency POINTS.
This artist is a great guy. These art works are good
Not only one. Painters are residents of the retirement home.
Thank you for your support!
That is so cool! Not sure which is cooler: the graffiti itself or the fact that the residents of the building created it! 💪 Love the "casual" look and, of course, the important message sent out with it... Personally, I have noticed fewer birds in nature than 20-30 years ago...
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for adding the post to the @ourpick project. It really is that kind of “casual” look—the residents of a senior citizens’ home drew it. Or maybe someone got into graffiti after that? 😎
It was probably the latter... That someone transmitted those residents' ideas on to the wall... 😃
Very cool work on this building. It looks like a page from a notebook with annotations everywhere, really cool especially with this message about nature.
I hope the appointment went well.
Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.
Have a great week
