September 23, 2021. Aspirin May Reduce Mortality in Patients with COVID-19

This article is retrospective study which compared 2 groups of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 with respect to 30 day and 60 day mortality.

The study showed that the patients in the aspirin group had less mortality and 30 and 60 days. It is to note that, compared to the non-aspirin group, the aspirin group had higher prevalence of hypertension, cerebrovascular disease, coronary disease, and anemia.

This study, although comparing small groups, is interesting because, in spite of being a group with more cardiovascular disease, the aspirin group showed less mortality. It would be interesting to see larger groups being compared.
