Private Minted Silver Series - Profti-Pak - CIBA_GEICY 1992 Silver Round

Collection Highlights -

Back with another interesting privately minted silver Round / coin / token. I'm not exactly sure what this falls into but I call them silver rounds or I guess company tokens. These are typically given out after a very good year, top sales people some sort of recognition event or milestone at the company achieved they meant these 1 oz of around and give them to the people who helped push the project over the finish line

I could find absolutely nothing about this one, and I can't even find much related to the company name. The only thing I could find when searching is the initials on the back ciba-geigy appear to be related to a Switzerland pharmaceutical company. It has a very long history that then changed its name and then shortened it in 1992 to ciba, which must have been after this coin was minted because it still has the full version on there. I'm assuming that it's a subsidy and rolls up under the umbrella of pharmaceutical/chemical that's related to farming. It seems like they might be related due to the reverse of the coin but I can't really tell.

Obverse

The front is clearly promotional related. Gives a slogan of the company as well as the what I can only assume to be company logo, and it was trademarked so I guess that could be an avenue of me searching if I knew how to reverse search trademark names. The design doesn't really strike me overall as a favorite of mine, but company logos and names are difficult and this wasn't made to appeal to the overall public and was more for employees of the company who might have more appreciation for it.

Reverse

I think the clear winner of the design is to reverse of this coin. It has the date which is always nice, as well as a company slogan of working for agriculture and the environment with some infographic style imagery of plants, water, and a family. Can't tell if they're supposed to be two adults and a child, or two adults a child and a baby held in the mom's arms. Other than that there's not much information to glean from this and overall I think it's just a unique silver round. And doubt I'll ever get much more info or background on it, it was minted so long ago that the company could have changed names sold off or no longer being existence. Either way it'll sit in my collection of privately minted silver rounds for various

companies.

I wish my Healthcare company has this as a Employee appreciation perk rather than a the little bronze wall plaque.

Haha - mine used to, but in the US the Govt starting claiming every $40 Christmas gift was taxable and employees got pissed because sometimes they didnt want the git and got paid less due to the increased taxes. Now we don't get anything - I blame politicians. !PIZZA

Other than what ever the minimum run was to get it minted, my guess is not many exist. Some probably got melted - or are sitting in a box in grandpas house! lol !LUV
