Went to the beach - Kids dug in the sand, I went fishing
It was too windy for using my favorite Whopper Plopper top runner. I also tossed about 6 other lures with no luck. I was shocked at not being able to find a single fish. Sure it was overcast, and windy, and but still. I finally decided to put on the bettle spin and see if I could find something confused like a crappie, or a bullhead, or a baby northern.
As soon as I started throwing the beetle spin I started to hammer the small mouth bass. Take a look what I got off one small area. They were in thick!
I even managed to snag a stripped bass
After a fun time at the beach we went back the cabin to hand out with my folks for a while. I decided to go back and do a little fishing off the dock. I was trying to find some perch bass I have seen getting caught on bobbers prior to the weed line moving in. While I couldn't find a perch, I did manage to find this little Northern on the same beetle spin.

I had to make a mid week run to help my dad install a Lake Groomer weed roller to help reduce the amount of weeds and mud we had in near the shoreline. After getting it installed, we had an hour or hour and a half. While my dad and his buddy must have caught 3-4 northern each, I had only managed one small one, but then I hook the biggest Large Mouth bass I have had in over 10 years. It was a great catch, I was super excited to get a large mouth and especially one this size, I normally don't catch them. As you can see, I am not holding it way out in front, it is actually a great a fish for the Mississippi River

Of course it's fun to get some fish strikes there.
Even though at first you don't get a touch of the fish at all, but the angler never gives up and gets discouraged on a few empty throws, right?
As a heavy angler, I can also feel your happiness when the sensation of pulling fish plays on your fishing rod.
Do you use casting fishing techniques there?
The big bass fisherman do, but my typical fishing platforms of a small fishing boat, kayak or from the shore don't really use any electronics. I am also just starting some small mouth fishing, so I don't really know their techniques that well yet, but keep working on it.
