Back To Splinterlands -Trying to complete my deck to level 2 summoners for Chaos, Riftwatchers and in print Reward Cards

It's a long slow process to build back my deck to be competitive. I am focusing on being 100% complete at level 2 summoners for chaos legion and rift watchers and imprint reward cards. Untamed to simply too expensive at this point and out of reach. Once I complete my 100% completion I will look at selective upgrades where it makes sense. It will most likely be a splinter or two that might go to level three but given the massive cost increase to level up cards it'll be difficult. I'm not sure if I would be better served just saving as much as I can for the next release so I can do the same but more quickly.

Weekly Challenge - Jared Scar

Wow this is not a weekly challenge, this is a card that I have recently purchased and I really wanted to showcase what it can do. I have been looking for good match use cases, and I think I finally found one.

Edition: REWARD
Rarity: LEGENDARY
Element: LIFE
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: BLOODLUST
Health: 4
Speed: 2
Attack: 5
Armor: 2

Reasons Why I like it
The main reasons I like it or it's massive attack at 5 and it has two armor with bloodlust. Bloodlust is one of my favorite abilities that they have added recently. With each kill it gets, it increases each stat by one. That means I can start to build a massive amount of speed, attack, health and armor. It can be almost impossible to knock out once it gets on a roll.

The drawback to this card are its high mana cost with relative low health. It makes it especially susceptible to opportunity cards and magic attacks.

The Matchup

MANA: 48

RULES: Equal Opportunity" All units gain the opportunity ability which allows them to attack the unit with the lowest health on the enemy team.

RULES: Spreading Fury: All monsters gain the enraged ability which multiplies their speed and melee attack by 1.5x rounded up.

SPLINTERS: Life, Death, Dragon

initial thoughts

Having a 48 man of match with spreading fury and opportunity make for a really interesting matchup. The fact that every card will seek that was the lowest health means that cards with bloodlust have a really good chance of getting the knockout. Also having cards get in ranged means they get a 1.5 modifier to their speed and melee damage. This can make some massive damage in later rounds.

  • Summoner MOTHER KHALA
I went with life because I figured if they had some of the best melee cards to use that I had versus dragon and death. My death cards are much better for arrow attacks, then my dragon is really more magic and arrow focused. I also decided since I was going melee I would take the extra health

  • First Position SHIELDBEARER
I want it to the gate one of the rule sets of opportunity and attract everyone here for the attack. I think it'd be better to protect a few cards as long as I could.

  • Second Position CHAOS KNIGHT
Since I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose my initial tank pretty quickly I want my second tank to have as much in protection as I can so the fact that it has shield and will reduced attacks should help

  • Third Position CORSAIR BOSUN
I figure with decent speed, high attack, high shield plus no splash damage it could do pretty well here. I'm just hoping all these cards actually hit their tax

  • Fourth Position JARED SCAR
Trying to protect it as much as I can considering it's an opportunity match. I want to leave it as much time as possible to start to build with its bloodlust

  • Fifth Position DISINTEGRATOR
I'm hoping they play melee as well, and you should help reduce their attack and make my monsters last even longer

  • Sixth Position DUMACKE EXILE
Another new card with high speed, three melee, and lots of armor it feels at a good spot to put it in case they have sneak override opportunity.

Opponent Lineup & Match Play

  • Summoner LUX VEGA this is my first time playing against Lux Vega and I'm jealous of anyone who gets to play with it. Those some are stats are just great.
  • CURSED WINDEKU classic death tank, those pesky thorns will do a lot of damage
  • DJINN MUIRAT pretty solid choice here, with doing magic damage targeting the lowest health, and it has some nice void armor for those melee attacks to get through
  • SILENT SHA-VI this is one of my favorite cards on death, and will be a real issue when it gets enraged super high speed and damage
  • CABALIST not exactly sure on a choice here. Sure it does so magic damage it will have some armor from a seminar but not exactly an ideal choice. Would have expected to see something a bit higher amana, and how your melee attack.
  • DISINTEGRATOR who was expecting to see this since it will reduce my melee attacks, and will be a pretty good card when they get some arranged
  • LIRA THE DARK honestly I hate this card when it's enraged because it's almost impossible to hit. With nine speed at enraged to becomes very difficult, at least it doesn't have flying or Dodge to that speed.

Round 1

image.png

Oh boy here we go get ready for lots of action with this much firepower on each team. I'll try to stick to just the highlights. Jared Scar
Knock out Corsair Bosun and get Bloodlust for a great start! But I lost Shield Bearer since it tooks all the hits.

Round 2

image.png

Start around 2:00 looks interesting. Not quite sure who's going to win but I'm feeling like I have a decent shot. My biggest concern is as monster start to get enraged I might start to miss a lot. And that is exactly what happens in this round. I miss both Lira The Dark and
Missed Silen Sha-Vi twice! This could turn into a real problem for me. Eight speed is just hard to overcome.

Round 3

image.png

The biggest difference between round two and round three is I have more damage and they don't have that much. When you add in the fact that I
Missed Silent Sha-Vi again and Lost Dumacke Exile it's looking questionable for a win.

Round 4

image.png

Luckily Corsair Bosun won't take any storm damage so that's a huge Plus for me. Having that ability will really help extend my life. I also got lucky and Jared Scar finally gets Enraged! 8 damage, 5 speed! Knocks out Silent Sha-Vi triggers bloodlust to move up to 9 damage and 6 speed. Now the phone begins and I'll see if I can build a bloodlust train that becomes an unstoppable locomotive. I also got lucky when Disintegrator missed Cursed Windeku - actually a big benefit since it didnt take 2 thorn damage.

Round 5

image.png

Now that I have a mega hitter on my team I'm only worried for monsters that have armor to protect them. But I get lucky again as Jared Scar knocks out Silent Sha-Vi - blood lust increases to 11 damage and 8 speed!!! Let the fun roll!! With its great speed, it causes Disintegrator to miss!!

Round 6

image.png
I have two big heavy hitters and one with insane speed. Unfortunately so do they ask my Disintegrator missed again, speed is wreaking havoc everwhere.

Round 7

image.png

There's no guarantees but I'm feeling pretty confident. Jared Scar goes first with the its blazing 8 speed... and 11 damage. I it knocks out Djinn Muirat, and triggers bloodlust again moving to 9 speed and 12 damage!!!

Round 8 it's in the bag

image.png

Of course Jared Scar goes first again and knocks out Disintegrator and gets not only bloodlust and is no longer demoralized. Now its up to 11 speed and 15 melee damage.

Round 9

image.png

Good thing I have 11 speed, lol. Now I get one final knockout. Final stats are 12 speed, 17 melee, and all the way back to 2 armor and 6 health. Bloodlust is amazing and fun to play when you also have Enrage!!! It takes getting a little lucky with having your attacks line up to when the are vulnerable and you get the knockout, but when you do, it really starts to roll!!!!!

image.png
Just look at those ridiculous stats unbelievable. Honestly stop and think 17 melee, 12 speed, and then all the bonus armor and health I got.

Thoughts - and 70% Chances to Win Again

Overall I think it went pretty well. Although I can see how if my luck changed and I had a few misses in my attacks were in a different order that bloodlust would not have been such a huge factor for me. Clearly the reason I won was because of the massive stats I built up with bloodbusting and rage. Without those I probably stood little chance of hitting some of the cards that I hit

Taking a look at Spencer stats that I own, it looks like I have a 70% chance to repeat my victory given the same lineup. This is honestly one of the more balanced matches I've seen, a lot of times when I look at replay percentages it's somewhere in behind 90s, so this shows that both lineups had merit and with a few tweaks I could have very easily lost.

Either way I will always try to play my bloodlust and super high attack cards when there is equal opportunity and enrage because there's so much fun to build up those stacked, the stats I got were absolutely ridiculous.
