Weekly Digest - The Good, Bad and Sensltess

I added a great number of new citizes and really managed to get a lot of new Technology finds. Bad news is they were all common stuff and I already had it. Either way, this is a long play that they will one day have more than the current value. Getting so many citizens is getting harder to manage as adding 1 citizen is really like adding 3 after the popularity bonus. I can see how this could be a problem to manage long term especially with the bigger cities.

I keep increasing my SIM power, but I fear I may be coming to an end. The APR is dropping to levels that are not as exciting, not to mention HIVE and CUB are both pumping hard these days. I will make sure to keep my investments in HIGH ROI projects is spread-out.

I did give up on adding much more animation and background tech, it felt like an impossible tas to buy all the art galleries'. I am not sure my next direction. As you see, I bought all the tech around increasing income for the these, and feel it might be my next step. Adding higher income, if taxes ever settle down having the boost to income will be really nice. They might be my next purchase either way and testing how if any changes they can give other aspects of earning in dCity.

New City - Senstlessmonster - ROI City Experiment

After hearing so many complain about the taxes for the past month of two in discord, I wanted to look at other ways to earn in this game. I read a post by @ecoinstant about high ROI cities built for minting citizens. I modeled my city after the post, but added a few things I wanted. For my experiment, the city was built as follows. All citizens will be sold at "market rate" ( no dumping for bids if too low) but trying to list them where the cards are likely to sell.

City Investment 87 Cards 15,174 SIM
I went to get max 30% New Citizen discover, while having a 1% chance for Technology discovery.

Cards Sold

Greetings, Mayor! Someone just bought 3 card/s from you (3x Homeless) for 239.4 SIM.

Summary - Initial Findings 82.04% APR

If this holds true for the rest of a full year, I can have a return of over 82%. After hearing about how there is no way to make money with high taxes, you need to look for other ways. Invest in mining new cards, and a high yield APR can give you a great income to reinvest. I now have 239 DEC I can reinvest.

Initial thoughts would be to keep building a few more of these and either sell the cards, or roll them off for more training. Not sure what I will do, but for now I will keep this city exactly as it is, and try to maximize my new citizens too keep the analysis going.

Thoughts and Future Plans

Not a great week, only 2 citizens. I may have to pump my chance to 30%. I was also disappointed by not finding any technologies. With a 25% chance each day, to go 7 days and not find one is a really bad run for me. I will have to watch and see how long this goes for me. Granted the sample size is stupid small, but it starts to feel like forever when you don't hit much.

Thoughts

Great week for the this little citizen producer. It gave me 3 new homeless to send off to be trained. The consistent production is great, and while it gives me a challenge of always having to increase the size of a city to accommodate, I currently like the problem and it makes me grow my city and tweak it every week.

Summary - Another City!!

I might have gone overboard, but I think showing that you can mint cards to sell for a higher profit than adding income in a high tax city is still a great to to play2earn!!

I will keep adding what I can to balance these 4 cities and continue to grow my main city for different areas.

Hey what other nft games do you play and how would you compare this games roi to others like if there is a paywall for earnings.

Like 10$ invested earns x % return
But $50 invested earns x+++ % return

To me as I explore all of these spaces and try to learn different games and the sustainability of the games and community. Not yet into this game yet, but may check it out.

!PIZZA party for the informative post. I love the resource management parts of games a ton

I play splinterlands, dCity, and Rising Star right now. I am looking into others, but honestly usually only join if I got friends who play who can help figure it all out.

I think play2earn is really interesting, and I tend to only play games I can find a way to "earn" but that earning might not even have real ROI for a long time, but as long as I can grow potential assets and advance in the game then
I am down to play.

The dCity ROI is all based on how you play since there are many more options to city setup vs games like splinterlands. The example above is a great way to start for under 20 HIVE and get ROI to reinvest !LUV !PIZZA

Just remember that in terms of an ROI it is best with riskier games/systems with less substance to try to recoup your initial investments as quickly as possible so you don't have to stress or be exposed to such risk. As you've probably figured it out a lot of these games can end up being ponzi schemes that suck all the value right out of their communities instead of building it into a much more thriving and fulfilling ecosystem. Anyways thanks for your response and have a wonderful weekend.

Yeah - I like the pace where if I need to I can leave it sit a few days or a week. Then again if I feel like spending hours moving stuff around I can do that too. !PIZZA

Exactly - Got to keep building, you never know what will become the next best thing you need to own. I have seen that plenty of times in SL! !PIZZA

I agree, still building slowly. At least there isn't the pressure to invest a ton right away and you can ease in. I !LUV !PIZZA
