Ennesima prova gigantesca dell'attore italo americano. Il film è lunghissimo ma non annoia mai. Pare essere la summa di tutta la poetica di Scorsese. Un collage eccezionale dei suoi film migliori calato nel genere che più gli appartiene e che più soddisfazioni gli ha regalato. Si parla già di Oscar. La concorrenza sarà spietata ma sarebbe bello vedere Scorsese, De Niro, Al Pacino e Pesci alzare almeno un paio di statuette prestigiose. Sarebbe il suggello meritatissimo alle loro carriere incredibili.
