Whispers of the Wild My Backyard Fungi and the Unspoken Rules of Nature

Another day another sweep. You know the drill out in the backyard broom in hand just clearing up all the leaves and dust. It's kinda peaceful actually. The sun's usually not too harsh and there's a nice little breeze. Just me the broom and the familiar sights of the backyard. It's my daily little ritual.

And then boom there they are again. Always popping up near the mango tree. These little mushrooms you know? They are always the same that pale peachy brown color kinda delicate looking. They are not huge or anything just these small flatish caps chilling on the ground.

I've been seeing these specific mushrooms for ages. Seriously it feels like they sprout up almost every day especially after it rains a bit. You had think after seeing them so often i had be totally sure about them. But that's where it gets tricky right?

In my head i have always had this thought that they are edible. Like it's just something i have somehow absorbed over time. Maybe from old stories or just a general vibe that these particular ones are okay. It’s not really based on hardcore facts more like a gut feeling.

Every time im sweeping past them i pause. You can’t help but think "What if? What if i just picked a few of these today?" My mind sometimes drifts to how they might taste or what kind of dish you could make. It's a quick fleting thought but it's always there.

But then that little voice of doubt kicks in. Im no mushroom expert not by a long shot. I just sweep! And i have heard countless times how some edible mushrooms have super dangerous lookalikes. It’s like nature playing a trick on you you know?

So the broom keeps moving. I always decide against picking them. It's just not worth the risk. My health, and frankly my peace of mind is way more important than trying out a random mushroom from the backyard. There are plenty of safe store bought mushrooms for cooking.

They just stay there these little peachy brown guys being part of the backyard scenery. I kind of admire them actually. They look pretty just doing their mushroom thing. But that’s as far as it goes just admiring them from a safe distance.

And then i finish my sweeping. The leaves are all gathered the dust is gone and im still feeling good healthy and safe. Those little mushrooms? They will probably be back tomorrow and i will sweep around them again. It’s just the way it goes. No drama just a daily routine. 😊
