Talking about holding a crypto currency for a long time can be a very big task to do apart from the fact that the price might go up or go down.
Holding crypto currencies for a long time especially bitcoin has helped many financially but the question is would you be able to wait for years just see a huge sum of money in your crypto wallet?. The answer depends on the individual and also the situation involved.
Depending on the individual can mean if the owner is patient enough to see growth and still hold. Many individual have had several regrets on why they were not patient enough to hold their crypto for a longer time.
In the year 2021/2022 there was a rise in a particular crypto currency called solana. Many lamented for ignoring it when it started some even had stories to tell about how they had a free airdrop of solana which they ignored and now what was offer to them for free has become valuable.
Been patient in holding crypto currency is a very calculative task. When you panick to sell it might send up becoming bigger than what you had expected and if you decide not to sell just to hold for a better price and it ends up crashing then there is a regret.
That is why it is advised you put what ever you can afford to loose and some people would also prefer to take out their profit when there is a rise in order not to loose the entire money if any thing bad happens.

In this situation I think setting a goal for your self should be necessary. You need to understand that if there is a potential for a coin to rise then you don't need to sell when there is a little rise as the little amount you are selling might become regrettable when such coin finally hit the moon.
Many people today are grateful to the crypto space because of the financial benefits. Just as people in hive community are also grateful to the hive blogchain for transforming the lives of Many on hive. Though we are yet to attain a good spot but I know someday the fresh users would be able to look at where the journey started and be more grateful.
