Animals Taking Over the Long Wekend - Sunday Edition
"Weekend planning is a prime time to apply the Deathbed Priority Test: On your deathbed, will you wish you would spent more prime weekend hours grocery shopping or walking in the woods with your kids?"
Today I’m wrapping up the animals taking over the long weekend here in Canada. We had rain here yesterday. Today is sunny and a bit warmer. I have the heat off and windows open. I just noticed Tramp has gotten under the window covering and has formed herself a perch in the sun.
Here’s the last five images for the long weekend prompt images in which I’ve had cats and dogs take over the role of humans celebrating the holiday. Sanity will return tomorrow. To see the complete set, start with Friday’s and Saturday’s posts.
Motorcycle Voyage
The sun was high, the wind was in their fur as the dogs were living their ultimate fantasy: morphing into birds during a thrilling motorcycle ride. Every dog was giddy with joy, except for Rover, who insisted he had a fear of heights and remained on the ground, whimpering at his airborne friends. What a wuss.
Picnic with Invisible Friends
The cats and dogs organized a picnic and invited their invisible friends. Amidst the laughter and the clinking of dishes, one mischievous dog whispered to a tabby cat, "Do you think they'll notice if we eat their sandwiches?" The cat replied with a sly grin, "Only one way to find out!"
Beer-Can Boat Race
The dogs held a regatta in the backyard, steering beer cans turned into tuna can boats (or some other mystery meat can). One Labrador, known for his clumsy nature, tipped over and ended up flailing in the water. As he was pulled back onto land, he blamed his wobbly performance on the "beer".
Maple-Leaf Ride
Riding a leaf-decorated motorcycle, Whiskers stole the show. Laughter filled the air as cats and dogs celebrated together. Colorful maple leaves danced, spreading joy. The town cherished the whimsical tradition, celebrating unexpected alliances. With a cat on a motorcycle and dogs on bicycles, unity prevailed.
Cottage Transformation
The cats and dogs watched in awe as their cottage transformed with the time of day. By morning, it was a quaint wooden cabin, by afternoon it turned into a regal Victorian mansion, and by night, it became a dazzling crystal palace. One older cat, known for her wisdom, yawned and commented, "And they said my nine lives were confusing..."
SO there we have the craziness we could experience if we let cats and dogs loose to celebrate human holidays.
