August Witness Townhall -- Wednesday August 19 at 12pm EDT

It’s almost time for the seventh Witness Townhall of 2026.
We’re going to continue the Rippily experiment. We met in the Rippily room I’ve built for the Townhall in July. The poll at the end indicated about 80% of those in attendance liked the venue.
You do not have to open an account on Rippily. You’ll be asked to enter a guest name when you load the room. Please use your Hive username.
The room is setup for 21 Witnesses and 32 members of the community in the audience. If more arrive, there’s a gallery where audience members can participate in the chat. The chat feature is comparable to what we have in Discord.
One of the reasons I have chose to introduce you to this platform is to provide some food for thought — like maybe more virtual events for the Hive platform? Imagine setting up a virtual venue to have Chain Culture or a Hive Open Days that can be platform wide.
I hope you will take the time to join, hear the Witnesses, ask questions and experience the venue. Yes, because hand-raising is available, I’ll be opening the floor for the audience to ask questions. Courtesy is required.
Here is the recording from the July Townhall:
Come on over and join in on Wednesday August 19th at 12pm EDT at the Hive Witness Townhall room.
The room is open 24/7 so feel free to visit.
You can also drop into my office over there if you’d like to chat.
This looks interesting. I'll have a look at it on YouTube. I've got no headphones for this phone but i have on my iPhone lols
Update. The above video isn't showing on YouTube. Is it set to private?
it's set to unlisted ... here's the direct link
Thanks I'll have a listen 👍
Youtube link fully functional now, for me anyways :)
Popped this on in the background today.. quite interesting putting a person, a voice and a personality to an avatar.
I choose not to turn my camera on but the voice is as real as it gets :)
Did you get a chance to pop into today's Townhall?
ha! yeah that voice, personally thought you worked the room rather well tbh :)
I did have a listen from end to end while multitasking elsewhere.
There are some very humble and well spoken witnesses out there. I found it rather enlightening to hear their opinions on the current status of HIVE, it's Ecosystems, dApps etc and their thoughts on the DHF.
It's a very different experience from reading media posts, listening to someone spell things out as they see it. Special mention goes to @starkerz who spoke very well.
