Sevana, Jaz Elise, Lila Ikè and Naomi Cowan perform the Rock & Groove Riddim live and freestyle for BBC Radio 1Xtra at Protoje's Habitat Studios.

I watched a documentary on tv last night about Miles Davis, someone I've long admired but not really had time to get into. While I was searching Youtube for some Miles' videos to play in the background while I did Sunday jobs, I came across this lovely Radio 1Xtra feature for International Women's Day.

It turns out there's a whole playlist of BBC Radio 1Xtra in Jamaica.

You can also find SeaniB's regular shows on the BBC Sounds website, including the latest one with Sean Paul at his Dutty Rock Studios.

While I'm talking about reggae at the BBC, I can't forget Don Letts, who has a show on BBC Radio 6 every Sunday evening. The thing that strikes me always is how young he sounds.

Source Don Letts, in the late 70s I would guess, when he had a record shop on Kings Road and the other guy (whoever he is ;)~) lived around the corner in Oakley Street, Chelsea.

We also have a weekly local reggae and soca show on Radio Leicester. I've appeared many times on this show in the past when I was promoting Caribbean writers, poets, books and events at the bookshop I had in town. I never got over the excitement of going into the studio, no matter how many times I went. They were always very kind to me :)

Haha, ironic that it's the guys picture that shows up in the thumbnail rather than the video of the women!
Edit: okay, I fixed that now.

Nice info on the Caribbean radio shows and sources. Vibing at a studio never gets old.
