Physical fitness and its importance

Ability in the general sense is the ability to do something. Ability in the broadest sense means the ability to lead a healthy and normal life while preserving biological existence. This includes the physical, mental and social capabilities of the individual. So it seems that capability is an overall concept. The able-bodied person is able to maintain physical well-being as well as mental well-being, emotional balance and social relationships.

To explain this overall concept of physical fitness, the following topics have been included in the competency by AAHPER

(American Association of Health, Physical Education and Research).

  • A. Physical health according to heredity.

  • B. Strength, breath, coordination ability and strategy required for daily living and emergency situations.

  • C. Appropriate attention and value towards the necessary activities of daily life.

  • D. The emotional balance needed to relieve stress from the complexities of modern life.

  • E. Ability to adapt to the team and the social consciousness necessary for social life.

  • F. Ability to increase and analyze the knowledge required for smooth solution of problems arising along the way.

  • G. Ethical and character determination required to perform the duties of a responsible citizen of a democratic country.

Why the Definition of Physical Fitness is Relative

Sutarang ability means the overall capacity of the individual. Indeed ability is based on the notion of human totality. Among the various aspects of overall competence, the most practical, necessary and primary aspect is the ability to perform physical activities.

So the nature of physical ability also changes according to the difference of physical work. Physical ability is the ability to carry out the tasks of daily life with energy and awareness without getting tired, to spend leisure time with joy and enthusiasm and to deal with crises. According to many, the superficial definition of physical fitness is not fully applicable at present as the need for manual labor has been significantly reduced in the modern instrumental life.
