The Sri Lankans have entered the next round after winning Daputa and becoming the group champions. Bangladesh, Australia, South Africa, England and West Indies are in Group One in Super Twelve.

Chasing a small target, however, Sri Lanka was pushed in the beginning. Pathum Nishanka returned to zero at the head of the team's 6 runs. After that, Charith Asalanka (6) could not take advantage.

But Kushal Perera came to the match with an instinctive batting. The Sri Lankan left-arm opener remained unbeaten on 33 off 24 balls.

Earlier today (Friday) in the last match of the group stage of the T20 World Cup in Sharjah, the innings of the Netherlands was reduced to 44 runs in just 10 overs by the Sri Lankan bowlers.

This is the second lowest innings of any team in the history of T20 World Cup. The first is against the same opponent of the same team. In 2014, Sri Lanka bowled out the Netherlands for just 39 runs in Chittagong.

None of the Dutch batsmen could reach the 15th house in the Sri Lankan bowling cannon. The highest innings for the team was scored by Colin Ackerman (11). 10 runs came from Ben Cooper's bat.

Among the Sri Lankan bowlers, Lahiru Kumara took 3 for 6, Wanindu Hasaranga took 3 for 9 and Mahesh Thikshana took 2 for 3.

Panic of the opponent, the best three records of the World Cup are for the Lankans

39, 44, 60 - The numbers are the three lowest innings in the T20 World Cup. All three happened against Sri Lanka. In the World Cup, the 'batsmen' of the Lankans seem to be burning the eyes of the opposing batsmen.

In both cases, the Lankans have embarrassed the Netherlands as opponents. The rest of the record is named New Zealand.

Sri Lanka decided to field after winning the toss against the Netherlands in Chittagong. The teammates did not prove the decision of captain Lasith Malinga wrong. Angelo Mathews (4-0-18-3) and Ajantha Mendis (2.3-0-12-3) bowled brilliantly and the Dutch were bowled out for 39 in 10.3 overs.

The Dutch also have the second lowest score in the World Cup, which is today. From the beginning, Dasun Shanakar Sri Lanka held the Dutch. Lahiru Kumara took three wickets in one over (3-1-6-3) with two spinners Mahish Thikshana (1-0-3-2) and Wanindu Hasaranga (3-0-9-3); The Dutch were all out for 44 in 10 overs.

60, New Zealand v Sri Lanka, Chittagong, 31 March 2014

In that Chittagong World Cup 2014, Sri Lanka once again gave shame to the opponent. Chasing the target of 120 runs given by the Lankans, the Kiwis kept on beating Rangana Herath's left-handed Velki from the very beginning. Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor surrendered helplessly to Herath that day. In his career-best bowling (3.3-2-3-5), Sri Lanka stopped the Kiwis' innings at 60 in 15.3 overs.

One South African is the epitome of Namibia's historic success

David Wise's career in South Africa came to an end in January 2016 when he was involved in a call-up deal with Sussex. The Namibian cricket team seems to have been cursed.

In August of this year, Namibia head coach Pierre de Bruyne announced that Wise would play for his team in the 2021 Twenty20 World Cup. The former Proteas all-rounder is in the World Cup squad as per that announcement. He became a part of history with his great performance with bat and ball.

This is the first time Namibia has got a chance in the T20 World Cup. Namibia will play against Sri Lanka in the first match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Wise's performance was as 'faded' as the team. Made only 6 runs off 6 balls. He bowled 11 runs in two overs but was wicketless.

But there is a common proverb in Bengal that says ‘master beat last night’! Wise started to make that proverb come true from the second match.

He took one wicket for 32 runs in four overs in the 'survival match' against the Netherlands at Abu Dhabi. However, the real 'charisma' was reserved for batting.

Batting for the target of 165 runs given by the Netherlands, Namibia lost 3 wickets for 52 runs. Wise put on a 93-run stand with captain Gerhard Erasmus for the fourth wicket to lead the team to victory. Playing an unbeaten innings of 7 runs off 40 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes, he gave the team a valuable victory of 6 wickets.

Wise was also great in today's (Friday) match against Ireland in Sharjah to secure a Super Twelve.

He has taken 2 wickets with 22 runs in four overs, he has made a great run out in his bowling in the last over.

Then the rest was batting. Wise gave the last scratch of the brush there too. Craig Young hit two sixes off the second and third balls of the 15th over to give Namibia the lead.

He played an unbeaten innings of 28 runs off 14 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes, where the former Proteas cricketer was happy to take the team to the Super Twelve with a four off deep extra cover in the third ball of the 19th over.

For South Africa, he averaged just 92 runs at an average of 13.14 in 20 Twenty20s and took 24 wickets at an economy of 7.70 in bowling.

But ‘what the Creator does for good’ - Wise might be thinking now. It was as if he was destined to write the history of Namibia by his hand, that is what happened!
