It Takes Two To Tango 🐦 Show Me A Photo Feathered Friends Contest Entry

shasta2022oct23rd47birds1io.jpg

Two for you, a couple of the neighbors turkeys out for a stroll, some flaming fireweeds in the background. Turkeys are not native to Alaska. They might want to keep walking far away cause it is almost that time of year again! That time would be the Thanksgiving holiday in about another month. Run turkeys run! I've heard over the years that domestic turkeys should not be out in the rain, cause they are so dumb they will look up at the rain coming down and will drown! I wonder if that's true?

Ok google says this is not true! lol

Great pictures @shasta, we have turkeys all over the place here. They are ugly and cool at the same time.
Peace my friend.

I imagine turkey don't do so well once winter comes on. Does your neighbour over winter them or are their days numbered?

I assume their days are numbered, perhaps about another 28 days??
They might have to learn the Turkey Trot! lol

In Canada, they'd already be numbered. LOL. Though now that I choose my plate ... I go with a Cornish Game Hen and a large roast.

Cool birds. You were lucky to capture a photo of them. I saw one in New Brunswick a couple years ago but it moves so fast I couldn’t even get my phone out to get a photo. I haven’t seen any here in P.E. I. but they seem to be in unusual places.

Thank you ❤ @redheadpei! I was in the vehicel driving by
real slow getting some shots out the window, not sure they
would be so close if I was on foot!? They might look wild
but they did not act wild.

You missed your seasonal dinner strutting their stuff right down the road? Yikes did not know turkeys drown by looking up at the rain !LOLZ

Live and learn, we don't see them wild, only on odd turkey farm, I have never visited one, people love chickens, I do believe profitable farming opportunity for poultry farmers.

Thank you ❤ @joanstewart! They might look wild but they didn't
act like it, there was also some chickens and ducks with them
out along the road. Those ones on farms are huge! :-)

Free range, out in great numbers, some good tasty grasses or plants must border the roadway.
