Introduction

Hi everybody,

My name is @shawnnft and I'm here to share my challenge blog post for the Share Your Battle Challenge. The theme featured this week is Dax Paragon. I will explain when I feel it's best to use this card as well as share a battle and my thoughts.

When To Use Dax Paragon

I feel Dax Paragon is best used in low mana battles. It's super good in little league and even stevens ruleset since it pairs with Pelacor Conjurer. It's a good filler if you have 2 mana leftover, you can just throw this card in. If you expect the opponent to play healing, then this is a good cheap card that will be able to give affliction. It's not super great as for 2 more mana, you could throw in Dr Blight which would do the same thing as Dax but be even more OP because of Scavange and poison. It's also ok to use in no ability ruleset and wands out ruleset depending on what elements are available.

The Battle

I played this battle on my scholar account, bltzr-wizard-727. The battle link can be found here. This battle is in gold wild league. The ruleset for this battle was even stevens, ferocity and fog of war with a 24 mana cap. The water and earth elements were not usable.

If you are wondering why I always share battles with my scholar accounts, this is because it's the only account that I play everyday so it's easier to find the battles for the challenge. I usually rent cards out on my main account and then rent to play brawls.

Discussing My Lineup

First Position, Pelacor Conjurer - I chose Pelacor Conjurer in the first spot to tank the game. This is probably one of the best tanks for even stevens along with Xenith Monk when we look for a cost effective tank since it's a low mana battle.

Second Position, Venator Kinjo - I chose Venator Kinjo for the reflection shield. It's just a safe second spot as incase the enemy randomly brings out a Yodin then it would at least shield me from the blast damage. The slow is also another great thing I like about Venator Kinjo as it would help give priority to my team to attack first.

*Third Position, Dax Paragon - I chose Dax Paragon to be a kind of cheap stall tank that can do some damage. It also gave my team the affliction just incase enemy opponent plays healing. This account doesn't have Dr Blight so this was my go to choice for this battle.

Fourth Position, Time Mage - I chose Time Mage as a decent DPS as well as a lot of utility. It gives rust which reduced enemies armor as well as slows them. You can see that with the summoner and Venator Kinjo there's a 3 speed difference already which actually played to my advantage if you watched the battle.

Fifth Position, Venari Crystalsmith - The main purpose for Venari Crystalsmith was to heal my Pelacor Conjurer as well as provide some ranged damage if the opponent also planned to play Pelacor Conjurer.

Final Position, Pelacor Arbalest - The purpose of Pelacor Arbalest was to be the big damage since it can attack twice per turn. It was also fog of war which means that it's pretty safe in the back since sneak is disabled.

Did My Strategy Work? & Would I try differently next time?

Yes, my strategy worked. I kind of didn't expect my opponent to play death. I thought they would've used life like me. I feel my opponents team wasn't that strong which allowed me to win. In my opinion, life was the best play for this ruleset and mana cap. If I had to try something differently next time, assuming I had Dr Blight for my scholar account I would have used that instead of Dax and maybe changed the Pelacor Arbalest to another 4 mana card. I would also play Ilthain for the summoner if I had it.

Do I Like Dax Paragon? Why Or Why Not?

To answer this, I don't like Dax Paragon but I also don't dislike the card; I'm somewhere in the middle. It's an alright card for 2 mana and it's an epic card so it can be used in lost legendaries when Dr Blight isn't available. Other than that I would prefer to use Dr Blight as I mentioned before it's just Dax Paragon but on steroids for another 2 mana.

I think you are good at this game for you to have made such a review and given much explanation on it. Though, I wish to join Splinterlands but I guess I won't have time for it since I am always occupied with lots of tasks to be achieved in a day.

Hey. You should try this game. The battles are less than 3 minutes per game and you can play from phone too. Thanks for the nice words and I guess I'm ok at the game. I do play a lot though :P
