Introduction

I have great news to share for those that aren't staying on top with Gods Unchained news. Gods Unchained has recently updated their roadmap and I am super excited for some of the items on the roadmap. I will be sharing my thoughts on this roadmap as well as some other news that's happening in Gods Unchained.

Game Mode Experiments

I think a lot of people are excited for this change. The blog does mention a sealed mode which a lot of people have been waiting for. I wonder if this is going to be with ghost cards or we will actually have to buy packs and choose cards or it could be a combination of both.

Personally, I would want to see something similar to battlegrounds that is in Hearthstone as a game mode. It would be like an entirely new game but still using GU cards. I would also love to see a mode that has mana ramp up faster like not having two locks for 6 and 7 mana and 3 locks for 8 and 9 mana. This way there's a mode to enjoy a game with higher mana cards as it normally takes quite long to reach there. In the current meta, the games are either 10 mins or almost 1 hour until the deck is out of cards. I would love to see some faster paced game modes where we won't have to play almost 1 hour games. Some other games modes I thought about could be wagering GODS or cards but not sure if this will break any laws or anything. Anyways there's a lot of potential and things they can do, I hope to see some new modes soon as I think most people are slightly tired of the weekend ranked shenanigans with super meta decks.

New Pack Opening Experience

If one thing's for sure, one of the big things about TCGs that people like is to buy and open packs. The opening pack experience on Gods Unchained is quite basic and got quite dull in my opinion. I guess this is a great change to make those that like to open packs get some better visuals. I think this change might even help get people to buy more packs and make it more addicting to open because of how nice it will be. Personally for me though, this isn't a super important change for me but I can see the need for this change.

New Content Creator Program

By the looks of it, it seems like this program will be focused more on videos so probably Youtube or streaming. This is great as it helps build and strengthen a community. I'm all for this change and I'm curious as to what kind of rewards there will be. I'm curious whether or not they will entertain Gods Unchained posts on Hive in the Gods On Chain community for these types of rewards as well~

Gods Staking Dashboard

I think this is a great idea to implement. It will let us see what we can do with our gods and claim our rewards easier which will probably be better than going to https://godsunchained.com/token/claim. I wonder if we will see stuff like in Splinterlands where we can have proposals and vote for them using our gods. I think that would be great for the game to have some decentralization in this aspect. At least those that have a stake in the game can also bring up ideas and have it voted by the community whether or not the GU team should implement those ideas.

Mobile Soft Launch

I've talked about this before and I really hope this is one of the priorities. Getting this out this year will definitely help increase the player base. I'm super hyped for this. I want to be able to play Gods Unchained on the go especially sometimes during the weekend I have to go out. Being able to play on mobile will allow me to get some of my battles done while I'm outside so I don't have to play a ton when I reach home.

New Major Set Expansion

This is another thing I'm looking forward to this year. I'm not sure about others but I'm tired of Mortal Judgement cards. I want to have some new cards to start earning from weekend rewards and just new keywords to change up the gameplay. I'm still waiting to see if we get abilities that can have cards be played from the void. For example, there could be a new ability that let's you exile the card and then it can trigger an effect. Honestly, this is a mechanic in Yu-gi-oh and I don't see why GU couldn't implement something similar.

Dralamar Exploit

Well apparently there was an exploit that made the game not fun for those playing against it. I actually lost one battle from the weekend because of this exploit. They could just infinite play magic inks and I would just lose :( from Static Aether Bug ability. Anyways I hope that person got banned!

Free Forging Ending

Well we had two months for this but it's finally going to end. There were no costs for forging meteorite and above cards for the last two months. It's finally coming to an end at May 26 8am GMT+8 Kuala Lumpur time. This is basically seven hours from this post. I just wanted to let everyone be aware of this so they don't miss out because I'm not sure if they will ever do this again in the future.

Concluding Thoughts

Out of all the things shown on the roadmap, I'm super excited for new game modes, mobile and new expansion. There's a lot to look forward to this year and I hope the team executes on this roadmap. What about you guys? What are you looking forward to being released on this roadmap?
