I want to be Thomas Edison

When I was growing up, our teacher would always use Edison as an example when he talked about persistence on a project. "He tried 99 times and failed until the 100" he will say and it worked magic for a few days to keep us motivated. Now, I never knew the story of Thomas Edison except for the simple fact that he invented the electric bulb and remained persistent and positive until he got the secret to it. I don't have that Patience, I abandon whatever doesn't work and move to the next, I know that's a bad habit, you don't need to remind me and that's the reason I chose Thomas Edison as someone I want to be like if it was possible at least for a month.

As I've said earlier, I don't know much about Thomas Edison, I don't know his other attributes outside his ability to believe in himself and remain positive even in the face of failure. I wish I could come up one day and say the several failures I have passed through were life showing me what wouldn't work and I keep pushing until something worked. There are several projects I started and one failure was enough to push me hard against the wall. I need to have a resilient spirit toward achievement and to have that, I need to become a man like Thomas Edison.

There are many people who have endured failures and learned from it until they were strong enough to embrace failure as part of life. That's the kind of person I want to become. It'll help me revive the project I started and allow them to die with no effort to give them life. Imagine becoming Thomas Edison, that will be a new project coming to life that could change the world but I'm not Thomas Edison. I'm Shem but I've been working on myself to have a trait that he does.
