Good evening my Hive friends! All right with you?

How has the new routine been since the new energy system for ranked battles? Did it get better, worse or haven't you even felt the difference yet? Well, in today's post, I want to talk and show the points of what I've noticed so far, although this news is still recent.

Its implementation took place on 03/21 and despite the short time I have a basis for pointing out some topics about what I thought of this new way of accounting for how much we can fight, which was replacing the ECR.

First of all, I recommend that, if possible, you observe my post on 03/14, commenting precisely on my expectations regarding this new system:

image.png

Quoting the last paragraph I wrote at the end of this post:

Finally, I reinforce that this change will be welcome and will probably work, of course theory and practice are very different things, but it is already an update that will draw a lot of attention and I give my vote of confidence for it. Let's hope everything works out!

Really, theory and practice are different things and I'll explain why, because let's say things are half and half in terms of whether this update is good or bad.

In this post where I talked about my expectations, despite having read the entire Splinterlands official post explaining the new system, I left out valuable information, which I ended up discovering the hard way, which will change my strategy (probably) from here forward.

Explaining better, now, my gains and energy are as follows:

image.png

After burning all 50 energy points, when I clicked on the “+” to buy more energy, I had a big and unpleasant surprise:

image.png

That's right, the cost is based on the season chest I'm in, i.e. diamond league! In my post, I had placed the following point stating that it would be based on the current league, I mistakenly disclosed this completely wrong information:

image.png

I'm sorry for the grotesque mistake, because, in fact, in the official post, this had been explained. Another detail is that we can carry out a maximum of 100 battles per day! And I had also imagined that countless battles could be carried out per day, that we could buy energy infinitely and that is not possible either:

Players will have the option to purchase up to 50 additional Energy per day. This means that, at most, each account will be able to play 100 battles in a single day (50 starting Energy plus up to 50 purchased Energy). The cost to purchase more Energy will vary based on the maximum league between the player's current league, their season chest tier, and their daily focus chest tier, across both Modern and Wild play formats. This is due to the fact that winning battles is far more valuable in the higher leagues than in the lower leagues.

Source

So that's the first negative topic. I mentioned earlier that this will change my strategy, as I believe that paying 150 DEC for energy is not worth it, on the basis that I am not able to generate as many profits on a daily basis. Of course I could spend some HBD for that, but I've been spending it all to level up my cards as fast as possible.

Therefore, I believe that I will stay in the gold league, because in addition to getting more chests, it will be cheaper to be able to buy another 50 energy refill (2500 DEC in total) to force in the last days of the season, get many more chests, accomplishing much more battles.

The second negative point is simply the fact of waiting 1 hour to recharge 1 energy point. This gave me the impression that I will play fewer battles than before with ECR, where I used to let it go to 80% and the next day I would start playing with 90-95% energy. Of course, I haven't put this on paper yet, but even so, several other members of the Brazilian community had the same feeling that we will fight much less than before.

divisor3.png

What about the positives so far?

Well, the first one is more substantial, because it's that feeling that we have a little more freedom, being able to spend DECs to play more. We can make an investment to buy DEC using HBD, for example, and buy lots and lots of energy, and with that, play 100 games a day. It doesn't have to be every day, maybe the last 5 days of the season.

With this, it is plausible, that we can break records of chests won in relation to the system with the percentage of ECR and that was something that I really liked. We can also take advantage, for example, that if a planned day we have to be absent, we can spend all 50 energies on the previous day and thus spend a whole day recharging without hitting 100% ECR and thus “losing” victory points in the ranked.

The second positive point is that so far I managed to get 2 days of extremely good daily chests, with 11 on the first day and 10 on the second:

image.png

image.png

It may seem like little, but I wasn't getting that many chests with the ECR system, so I may not be able to do this as often, but by removing the decrease in points earned through the ECR % and the possibility of recharging energy, I can say that the average daily chest maybe increases considerably.

Again these are assumptions, which may still take some time to become effective or not. So so far it's been 2v2 on whether the change is good or bad, for my playstyle, resources, and win rate.

As I said a moment ago, I now have the difficult decision to continue with the strategy of taking the season reward as a diamond league or keeping both the daily and season missions as a gold league, aiming for a 50 energy refill with a lower cost .

What do you think? What is your opinion about everything that has been presented so far?

Thank you all and until the next post!

I still don't get it clear, but I think that it will play less, having to wait an hour and then another hour can be boring.
If you get busy with something and then want to play and the time available only gives you one battle. It will not be comfortable to wait for an hour, if you do not want to buy more energy, it can be heavy for you.

If you're in a game, you want to play when you have the time, when you feel like it, for as long as you want.

I also think that per day we will play less games, because 1 hour to recover 1 energy is really time consuming.

Another impression I had at least is that the daily chests are really coming in greater quantity if we get some good victories, because that % ECR penalty doesn't exist anymore.
