Splinterlands - Guild Brawl Battle Report for April 26, 2022

Hello everyone! How's your day? I hope you are all doing great and safe as always! I hope you enjoy every second of your time! I'm @shikiphantom and I am here to bring you my @Splinterlands' guild brawl report for April 26, 2022. It will be also posted a bit late same as my previous report and I apologized for that. As mentioned on my previous report, this is a part of my journey here in Splinterlands and Hive in particular. And again, I will repeat that if you don't have a guild, haven't joined one or in a guild but don't have guild brawls yet, I suggest you join a guild that has one or help your current guild to have guild brawls so you can have additional collection power from gladius cases which will also help you retain that power needed for certain leagues which also add to the ongoing SPS airdrop and very useful in guild brawls. Guilds are awesome! You might be able to get a legendary gold foil gladius card which has 50,000 collection by buying gladius case from the merits you've won!

My Brawl Performance

Brawl Battle #1

Me VS AIPEI of 翩翩煮晚风🌊 - Battle Link is here.

Battle Lineup:

Key points

• A 52-mana battle with Aim True and Close Range ruleset.
• All splinters are available except for death which means if you choose Obsidian as your summoner here, it will not be nerfed.
• Most people that I encounter when the battle ruleset has either Aim True or Close range, they will use lots of range attackers. However, in Chaos Legion Fray, the only summoner that has a range attack buff is General Sloan from Life Splinter and the only summoner that could negate that which also subtracts 1 speed is Quix. In addition, a lot of range attackers don't have a high amount of HP.
• Before submitting my lineup for this battle, I decided to use Obsidian and the earth splinter because I think that magic attackers are very useful in these scenarios and I believe in Quora. I used Grund as my tank of which he also has that double strike ability. I also used the Mycelic Slipspawn as a diversion so that my Grund will not die easily from attacks, Queen Mycelia for additional armor in case my opponent will use melee or lots of range attackers just to prolong the battle, Goblin Psychic for tank heal and Regal Peryton as my secondary tank because of its flying ability. My lineup also deals so much magic damage in each round.
• Into the battle, My opponent has a decent lineup which has a lot of diversity as well. He used Quix as his summoner which nullifies range attackers, a tank that has void and flying ability to mitigate attacks from magic attackers and also has evasion chance, 4 monsters that are magic attackers, also has taunt, has armor and double strike. It is almost the same lineup that we have.
• My advantage here is that I have Quora and sustain for my tank.
• If I have to change something here, I will like to try and use Legionnaire Alvar as my tank for the void armor ability and just to assume that my opponent will also use Obsidian.

Key points

• A 44-mana battle with Spreading Fury and Close Range ruleset.
• All splinters are available except for Dragon which means if you choose General Slone as your summoner here and it will not be nerfed by Quix. However, this is high-mana battle, I prefer using Obsidian and the earth splinter here.
• For this battle, I almost use similar lineup as the previous battle. The only difference is that I didn't use the Mycelic Slipspawn here. My opponent also used Obsidian and has a decent tank than mine. However, I have Quora and he does not have any gladiator card in his lineup.
• If I encounter this battle again and have to change something, I would like to reposition my Quora into the second position and transfer my Regal Peryton at the last position. By this, my Quora will functioning as a secondary tank with heal and tank heal from Goblin Psychic. I feel like my lineup in this particular is messed up and just got lucky. Anyway, a win is a win.

Key points

• A 20-mana battle with Earthquake and Melee Mayhem ruleset.
• There were only 4 available Splinters to choose from - Earth, Life, Death and Dragon. The Dragon Splinter has a lot of flying monsters that is decent for this battle. However, they don't have sustainability over time from attacks.
• For this battle, I still used Obsidian and paired it with Regal Peryton because of its flying ability and also Quora because she has her own healing ability to offset the earthquake damage.
• My opponent also used Obsidian with Regal Peryton but his lineup will not last longer because it doesn't have sustain. Regal Peryton can only survive for sometime.

Key points

• A 42-mana battle with Armored Up and Even Stevens ruleset.
• Only 4 Splinters were available to choose from - Water, Life, Death and Dragon.
• I checked each Splinter if could get a decent lineup that has diverse offense and defense but nothing comes close to what I decided to use. I used Quix as my summoner and paired it with the Water Splinter.
• My opponent used Kelya as his summoner, he also had a legendary gladius card, a tank which has a lot of armor and decent HP, 1 magic attacker and 2 range attackers.
• By using Quix here, I was able to nerf the speed buff from Kelya and also nerf his range attack damage which results to his 3 range attackers to only have 1 range attack. I used Baakjira as my tank for the void and slow ability which also made his monsters slower and his magic dealer to only deal 1 damage per round. All of my attack monsters could attack in their position in every round while his legendary gladiator card couldn't utilize its melee attack.

Key points

• A 40-mana battle with Unprotected and Keep Your Distance ruleset.
• Only 4 Splinters to choose from - Water, Life, Death and Dragons.
• For this battle, I decided to use Quix as my summoner and paired it with the Life Splinter. Before I submitted my lineup for the battle, I think that having magic attackers is the way to go here - to negate range attack and have a tank that a void ability. I used Captain Katie here because I believe she will be very useful in these scenarios for having a 3 magic attack and snipe ability. I was just hoping that my opponent will not use Thaddeus Brood.
• My opponent also used Quix here. I think that is favorable on my side because I didn't use a single range attacker and my magic attackers will not be nerfed.
• If I have to change something here, I will remove my Chaos Agent on the lineup because he might be killed by a gladius card. Luckily, his gladius card has snipe ability and disregards my Chaos Agent.

Battle Lineup:

Key points

• A 23-mana battle with Equal Opportunity and Spreading Fury ruleset.
• 4 Splinters are available to choose from - Fire, Life, Death and Dragon.
• I used Quix here and paired it with Life Splinter. I feel like Quix and Time Mage are a great combination to give my opponents a -2 speed debuff. Speed is really useful in opportunity ruleset because you got to attack first and clear out some of your opponent's monsters. The gladius card that I used here is Marisol Contuma because I really like its stats - high melee damage, high speed, decent armor and high HP. I could also use Captain Katie here but I would like to try Marisol as well.
• My opponent also used Quix and paired it with melee monsters. His Carnage Titan is a force to be dealt with. However, the longer the battle, the stronger my Marisol is. The moment my opponent triggered the enrage on Marisol, Carnage Titan missed their attacks.
