FRIENDS BECAME FAMILY

yesterday 6th of May 2022 my brother got engaged with the love of his life, we had to travel all the way from Ilorin, kwara state to lokoja, kogi state. It's one of the happiest day of my life even if am not the one getting married but am so happy for my brother, atlast he has become a husband and will be a father very soon.

The two used to be friends, they met while serving their father land as a youth corper in kogi state, Nigeria. And from there the journey started,I also learnt my brother was the president then while her female friend turned wife today was the head of the ladies more like the vice president... the rest is history now as they are now knotting the tie as husband and wife..

so about our travel to kogi state, the journey was very stressful due to the transport we used, our car got faulty on the way so we had to stop by and fix it, we got delayed for about an hour. we left Ilorin around 8am we got to lokoja around 3:30pm... it's been long I travel that far. on getting to lokoja( the home of the bride's family) we were highly welcomed, they served us pounded yam with egusi soup, it was so sweet.. I must confess have not tasted something as delicious as that for awhile now, you know why? am still a bachelor, lol don't mind me. After eating we headed to their village (obgbabon) where the engagement would take place, it was about 45 minutes driving distance... on getting there we had to start immediately as time was not on our side... the ceremony was done as fast as possible so we could return to lokoja before it's dark. we presented the dowry and all the engagement listed items.

My brother and I with some of his friends prostrated to show that we beg the family before the bride could be handed over to us as our wife... that's the tradition over here anyways, it also mean alot to the brides family giving them that respect and dignity.

Pastors blessed their union and then merriment started we also wine and dine again after eating pounded yam some hours earlier... we head back to lokoja spending another 45 minutes, we had to Lodge in a hotel, where we had a good time as the hotel was well furnished, it was worthwhile as it ease and relieves us from the hectic and stressful day we had, I personally enjoyed their service and the Air conditioner was one of a kind...lol This morning the proper Church wedding will hold at the bride's family church here in kogi state... ohh I forgot to tell you, I am the best man... watch out for my nice suit. Today will be more fun.
