AFRI-TUNES WEEK #53 || YES AND AMEN BY TOPE ALABI (COVER @SHOLEX)
Hello everyone of Afri-tunes community, so sorry my post is coming in late. I hope we're all doing great.
Without further Ado, this is my entry for the afri-tunes week #53 music event, and I'll be presenting a song by Tope Alabi titled "Yes and Amen."
This song is a Yoruba song so I understand some might have difficulties in understanding the lyrics please bear with me, there's English subtitle in the lyrics section though.
Maybe this is the first song of Tope Alabi that I'll be presenting on hive and Afri-tunes. I love her songs, but due to the language, I don't want to do alot of Yoruba songs so that I can carry the non Yoruba's along aswell.
This song is a very popular song in this side of the country and most times used in churches during Parise and worship sections. Personally I love it, most especially the verse I sang, the song has many verses but I chose my favourites two verses.
According to the song, anyone that does not know God knows nothing likewise anyone that do not see you and I as the glorious handwork of the Almighty knows nothing aswell.
lyrics
You created the sea
O da okun, O da oosa
Wonderful performer that used water for wonders
Alara to fi omi se osho
You only knows where fishes pass through to get inside the Sea
Iwo to mo ibi eja gba do odo
A covenant that uses Salt to out taste the Sea
Majemu to bu iyo ja okun
Sand is the earth
Iyanrin te ka aiye
He calmed the darkness
O da okunkun biri mu
You created Light!
Oga imole oo
The Heaven has no door
Oju orun o ni ilekun oo
He lives in Heaven and on Earth, without travelling
Ogbe bi mejeeji, lai rin irin ajo
He brings nature into existence
O mu eda gba inu eda waiye
How Life/heart metamorphose, one does not know
Ibi emi ngba lo ba, eni kan o mo
The Greatest! Whoever that doesn’t seek you
Ajulo o eni ti o wa o
Can not know anything
ko le mo nkankan
Whoever that doesn’t have God, has nothing
Eni ti o ni o, ko ni nkankan (x2)
We are His signs
Ami lawa je, si Iwo amin
You are the one that makes the World exist
Beni ire loje ki aiye wa o
God is the Sign
Olorun la min
You signs makes our sign manifest
Amin lon famin wa han
The Earth and Heaven are your signs
Aiye, atorun lamin yen o
The creatures are His signs
Aseda ni amin
It’s your word that lets us exist
Oro re lo je ki a ma wa
God is the sign
Olorun la min
Amen, amen, amen, amen o / 8ce
Amin, Amin, Amin, Amin o/8ce
When I saw Yes and Amen, I thought it was Sinach's song.
I don't know the song but it's nice.
That was why I said Afritunes is making me know a lot of African songs.
Nice presentation Sholex
Ohh Sinach also have a song with the same title.
Hmm am glad you learnt a new thing via my entry.
Thanks dear.
Oh, The title of that one is 'Final word'. I just realized that.
Okay
Tope Alabi is one of the Yoruba gospel artist I respect so much in the industry. The lyrics of her songs are always deep mysteries yet you'll still be able to relate with it. It's good to see you present the song so well. Kudos @sholex94

This is just the definition of her songs.
Hmm Yoruba boy going to a Yoruba church 😃 I don't have choice.

My love for Tope is almost commensurate with the love i have for my mother. That woman sings from the depth and eventhough I don't really understand yoruba language but she makes me very interested in yoruba songs. Her words of exaltation many a time dey put me for ecstacy. Thanks bro for bringing my mentor's song to us here. You too much baba
