Project Update: Altera and the Magi Bridge
The Altera project is building a new "Magic Door" for the Hive blockchain.
In the past, moving money between Hive and other cryptos like Bitcoin was tricky. You had to use big middleman companies called "exchanges." If an exchange shut down or stopped working, people were stuck.
Altera fixes this by creating a direct, automated bridge between Real Bitcoin and Hive Backed Dollars (HBD).
What the Team Finished Recently
- Made the Bridge Safer: The developers fixed important security bugs in the code. Community members helped test the system to make sure hackers cannot trick or break the bridge.
- Updated for New Hive Software: The bridge was fully updated to work smoothly with Hive's latest network upgrade (Hardfork 28).
- Easier Bitcoin Swaps: You can now swap money directly from standard Bitcoin wallets. You don't have to pre-deposit your funds into special contracts first.
- Planning for the Future: The team is working on ways to connect this system to major crypto platforms to bring even more new users to Hive.

I hope so also, I plan to direct people to take their HBD there and trade it for Bitcoin, instead of trading it for Hive and selling Hive.

This is a good news to hear. Honestly, it is not easy trying to trade your token directly and earn money without going through stress of whether your crypto in listen on an exchange or not.
Exactly, it frees the whole community from dependency on centralized exchanges by letting us trade directly into bitcoin. I am very surprised that more developers are writing about this and more whales supporting it. I think it could increase the utility of both HBD and Hive.
