Changes are live in Splinterlands with Glint token and Reward Shop

Hope the day is going well for you and it's going well for me also.

Yesterday I claimed my session and reward and after that, there were a few pop-ups. I got a window of pop-up in which there were some updates and also got another pop-up to accept terms and conditions. I believe this is because of the changes they have pushed into the game and they want all the players to accept these changes before they proceed with the gaming. I was aware of the changes so I agreed because anyway I know the changes are happening.

After that, I was able to see the updated user interface where I can see the glint token as well as the reward shop option. I think this season was slightly shorter because, as you can see in the below snapshot, the season will end in 12 days and seven hours. I don't know why it is shorter but you can surely see the changes on the interface where we glint boost and reward soft option visible on the page.

We also need to know that now we will not earn any more SPS through the season and reward and I think it is a sad part because earlier we were getting but not anymore. I don't know why the SPL team has done it but hopefully, this is done for the betterment of tokens and I just expect that this adds more value to the token economy. SPS is the governance token but keeping the less circulating supply will push for the pricing and probably this is why the team has done it.

Since the beginning, I have played in wild format because I get cheap cards from the older editions in the rental market. There are two ways we can play in the game and these are modern and wild. In modern format, we can play with the latest cards which usually contain the last couple of editions and it also includes rebellion. In the wild, we can use any card in the game and does not matter what edition it is from so it is like no matter what edition card you have you can play in the wild which is why a lot of people are still playing in the older league. It is not bad but the only disadvantage this format has is that there are so many bots playing in this format so you might not get the feeling of playing with a real human player. If you can deal with this disadvantage then it is not a bad option to play into because you get the cards at a low rental price.

I have checked that rebellion cards are pretty much expensive in the market even if you are trying to buy or you are going for the rental. In both cases, you will have to pay more and this is why I decided to continue with Wild only and have no plan to change it soon. Alto, I say that I'm not going to change soon but still, I will consider and see if this can be a good option in terms of reward. Modern can be good if the rewards are higher there and I'll be checking it out from time to time. I know that if I need to go there it is going to be expensive for me because my cost of rental will increase and I am happy to do this provided the value I invest comes back to me as a reward.

Conclusion

Overall I hope that the changes are for the betterment of the game but it is too early to judge something because I don't know how things are going to work. I was familiar with the previous system but I understand that changes are part of life so after some point in time we need to go through the change management. It happens everywhere so this game cannot be left alone and similar fundamentals are applied here also. I would like to see how things are going and for that reason, I will continue to track it if there are positive changes then I will also make some changes to my gaming strategy and accordingly rentals will also be upgraded.
