Upcoming changes in Splinterlands and Renewed Rentals for another month

Good day to you. Hope the day is going well for you and it's going well for me also.

This season is ongoing and I have a couple of things to discuss about the game. I will be talking about my renewal for the rented cards which I have done today. I will also be sharing some updates which I have got to know through the town hall article. It is interesting and I think we should know because these changes are going to impact our gaming and rewarding experience.

New Reward System is Coming

If you go through the latest town hall announcement post you will see that they have discussed a new reward system in the game. I did not join their session as I am not on Discord but I go through the updates because after every town hall a minutes of meetings are shared which is good practice. I also followed this practice of sharing the minutes of meetings for any discussions done with a group of people.

Currently, we get season chest after the end of the season but with the new reward system, this will be discontinued. We will be rewarded with glint that can be used in the reward shop and it's like we will not be getting the reward directly but we will be able to use these gleams in the reward shop.

Options in the reward shop will include: reward cards, potions, energy, merits, limited edition titles

There will be enough variety on these so we'll be able to choose or we will be getting the multiple use case and different components in the game with this updated reward system. They are also going to add the option to burn gladiator cards for merits which I think is good because with merits we can buy more packs. We can also accumulate more glint to buy something big from the shop later on. It's like we're accumulating something to buy something big and it's up to us when we want to do this so basically with this change they are changing the way we get rewards. Currently, rewards are pushed to everyone and there is no way we can hold it because it is distributed across. With the change when we are going to get the glint we will have the option to accumulate and buy later on.

Now I recall my credit card spend where I get some reward points and I have the option to redeem these points against a catalogue. It's my call to decide when I want to redeem those points against some gift or anything that I want to take and I also have the flexibility to accumulate for something big. More or less this change sounds like same to me but can't say much because we are still waiting for the changes to be implemented. This change is scheduled to go live on April 2nd and expect more updates from the team side about this upcoming change so there is nothing to worry about since we will have more clarity coming soon.

Rental Renewal

As I take the majority of my cards on the rental I need to keep the card rental renewed on time. Missing the rental means I'll lose the card and it will affect my game So I don't want this to happen. I keep on checking my rental status from time to time and every month I do a bigger rental for thirty days. This helps me to keep most of the cards in place but still, there are some changes because some owners cancel the rental and this is when I lose the card access. With timely review, I managed to get those cards back that I needed. Today I did the bigger rental renewal for the next month and as I already mentioned I will continue to monitor it which is not much time time-consuming and saves time. The bigger rental which I do for the month takes time because I need to take so many cards on the rent. I wish there was an option to automate this activity but so far I couldn't get it and I don't know if there is something like this that exists that auto-renews the cards I often take on the rental.

I keep enough DEC tokens in my account to ensure that I don't run short of the balance and this is why whenever I see some low price for the token in the market I just buy and keep it in the account. Every month I spend about 40K Dec on the rental so it's a good amount this way I am trying to generate more demand for the cards in the market and a good use case for the Dec token through my gaming journey. I'm sure many players like me are dependent on the rental market and they are enjoying it just by paying some rental cost for those cards they use for gaming.

This time I did rent more cards than before and my collection power is almost 700K for the first time. The overall account statistics can be seen in the above image where I have been playing in the wild format of the game and am about to complete 5k battles soon. I have no plan to change my battle format because the wild is good for me and my winning ratio is 4 8.5% with the longest streak as eleven which is nice for me.

Conclusion

Overall it is good to have the rental market which is very helpful and I prefer taking cards from the old edition where I need to pay less rental cost. Rebellion is the latest edition in the game but the cards are expensive in terms of price and also for rental charges. I have no plan to play in modern because I don't want to spend more money when I can already get the cards for affordable prices. This part is done for the month and now I am waiting for the time when the changes are implemented in the game. It's like the next season we are going to start with the change and we will not be getting these season chests so I do not know how it will work but let's see the upcoming change and hope that it will make the gaming fun and better rewarding than before.
