Bendiciones

VERSIÓN EN INGLÉS

HAPPY 42 YEARS ANNIVERSARY MY DEAR CATATUMBO

Greetings dear readers and very especially to the community of @Venezuela, who through it allows and encourages us to make known the most hidden beauties of our beloved country in its different horizons. Today I want to take advantage of the 42nd anniversary of my municipality to show you parts of the essential beauties that make it up.

The Catatumbo municipality is known by the Catatumbo river that runs through it, besides this name means (House of lightning) originally from the Bari Indians, who for many years have lived in this area and it is noteworthy that this population lives up to its name, as in the birth of the well-known and mentioned Ray of Catatumbo.

Since 1980, the Catatumbo district was granted the name of municipality and since that date all the Catatumbo people delight and celebrate their festivities with great joy and happiness. This is a town full of hardworking people, which is characterized by performing mainly in fishing, agricultural and livestock activities, but over time it has been diversifying and adapting to their own needs so that currently has expanded its sources of work to trade in different areas and all kinds of merchandise, which has provided the population in general an ideal extension for their culture and economy. It also has beautiful sunrises and sunsets that are worthy of admiring and appreciating at all times and that detailing them make it unique in every encounter.

The municipality of Catatumbo comprises two parishes, Udón Pérez and Encontrados, I will focus on the latter since it is where I currently live and where I have the joy of sharing with my beloved family and all the inhabitants that make it up. Something curious that I want to highlight about my parish is the origin of its name, because in the vicinity of my town two fluvial currents cross, the Zulia River and the Catatumbo River, which have presence in the Maracaibo Lake, from there derives its peculiar name.

The parish Encontrados, has many tourist and historical aspects to highlight among which stands out that here began the transit of the railway from Encontrados to the cold, Tachira state, here I will show a current image of what was the railway station of the train and which is in a rather deplorable state, its structure is very old dating from 1985 and has not been given the necessary care to preserve the structure in good condition, however, is considered a historical heritage of our municipality and it currently operates the facilities of the House of Culture.

What is very well preserved is the railroad that has been in transit for so many years on these tracks and which rests at the back of the facilities of the parish mayor's office, specifically in the central part of the entrance of the passenger terminal, so that everyone who enters and leaves the place has the opportunity and joy of knowing the great railroad as we all know it in my town. For many years it has been used as a tourist space and of great atmosphere in the Christmas festivities, where all of us in the community take the opportunity to go and take a picture in beautiful and creative spaces, which represent an important historical part in our municipality.

Within this town there is a little known tourist area such as the Ciénegas de Juan Manuel and the Congo viewpoint, these are tourist areas where the Catatumbo Lightning is born, a natural phenomenon that illuminates the sky with all its splendor and that originates mainly at the mouth of the Catatumbo River. These used to be visited by tourists in previous years, but currently we are working to rescue these natural spaces that represent the magnificence of nature itself.

My municipality represents one of those corners of Venezuela that deserves to be known, so I wanted to use this means of disclosure for anyone who wants to visit an essential and beautiful part of our beloved land, is encouraged to visit the municipality Catatumbo and its surroundings and if you can not make the trip at least have the virtue of knowing him.

I thank you in advance for dedicating part of your valuable time to read my work and may God multiply the support that you contribute to my publication. Blessings
