Everything, a Dragon | DrawaBox Promptathon (Day 1/7)

Hello everyone!

Today, I want to try something completely different in my art journey by using drawing prompts to create a art piece.

There is this website known as DrawaBox which is a free course for learning how to draw and the fundamentals of it.

I noticed that there is usually a period where they hold a promptathon. During that period, you'll have to make drawings based on the provided prompt for each day.

Normally, I don't usually participate in things like this because I always consider my skills to be insufficient. But this time, I finally decided to go for it, even if the results are not great. Plus I always have a hard time deciding on what to draw so this event could be a game changer for me.

This promptathon that is organized by DrawaBox is going to last for a week. So I will try my best to keep up and share the results here.

For today, the first prompt was "Everything, a dragon".

It involves taking anything (and I mean ANYTHING) and try to dragon-ify it.

For some reason, when I read the prompt details, what came to my mind was "fish".

I know, it sounds pretty unusual. But I didn't want to spend an excessive amount of time thinking so I decided to work with that. I decided to create some sort of dragon-fish.

Process

First, I started with the line of action.

Then I tried to get the basic form.

My plan was to use a goldfish, but I realized midway that I didn't know exactly what a goldfish looked like, and also a dragon too.

And this is the final result:

I did notice that my line quality was not the greatest. I was pretty nervous a lot of the time so it lead to me making very rough strokes. I also think that this has become a habit now. I'll focus from breaking it, starting from tomorrow.

Also, if you're interested in checking out the promptathon or the drawing course, you can click here.

Well, that's all for now. Thanks so much for stopping by.
