The Court of the Rat King | DrawaBox Promptathon (Day 3/7)

Hello dear friends!

Once again, I will be sharing my submission for the DrawaBox promptathon where a drawing will have to be created using the selected prompt.

So far, I've been enjoying this challenge as it has given me a chance to draw something for fun, rather than always having art study sessions which can get draining sometimes.

The prompt for today was "The Court of the Rat King".

The requirement is primarily to redesign a chess piece with a rat-based theme, or pretty much anything that has to do with rats and chess.

To be honest, I actually had no idea of how to go about this one. So I gave up and decided to draw a jester rat that is probably a chess piece.

I will now share how I came about it below.

First, I'll start with the line of action as usual.

From there, I start working on the basic forms and overall shape of the rat.

After getting a rough sketch, I started drawing over everything with a pen.

And here is the final result:

I really couldn't come up with many ideas for this prompt and this was what I decided to stick to at the end.
