Arrived????

Afternoon everyone…..

I will not have the time to write a post today. So this post was written last night and scheduled for today.

I’ll be sharing stuff from my vacation shortly, but I’ll try to mix it up a bit, here and there.

Anyway….

Many of you like to buy junk silver to add to your stack, @trumpman loves his German coins for this. While it’s a great way to add silver without paying the current premiums on bars, rounds or coins, it’s not really my choice for stacking.

I do however have some, but it doesn’t make up much of my stack. I have a handful of tubes of half dollars, a couple of tubes of quarters, and a few tubes of dimes. These are primarily in my stack for bartering if it is ever needed.

US constitutional silver is one of the best in my opinion. Not because I happen to live in the US, but because all of it is 90% silver. There’s no guessing or math involved once you know the number. Most of the other countries change the percentages on coinage often leading to less silver per coin and quite a lot of math to figure out.

Being that I started out as a collector before become a hybrid collector/stacker. I much rather collect fine examples of numismatic coinage then having a bunch of worn out beaten up silver coins.

It’s just my view….

I recently found a tube of Walking Liberty half dollars in one of my boxes. These are much harder to find as junk silver goes. You typically see either Kennedy halves or the Franklin halves for sale. There are only a handful of years on these that were mass produced and haven’t been pulled to sell individually.

There are a couple in the tube that are in decent shape, but nothing I would consider collectible.

So here is my ten dollar face value tube of Walking Liberty half dollars….
