They say X marks the spot……well

Afternoon everyone….

Today I’m going to share another piece that was purchased at Archangel Coins. They are a local coin shop in Las Vegas, that we all went to during the silvergoldstackers meet up.

As my title states X marks the spot. Well in this case A-Marks the spot…..

Because this is a vintage silver round from A-Mark Precious Metals. It’s a 1985 Liberty Bell round. These vintage rounds and bars are becoming harder to find without paying pretty high premiums.

But because I was buying a bunch of stuff from them he gave me this round for $27. That’s a huge score in my book since they sell regularly on eBay for the $34-$38 range. While I have no intention of selling it. It is nice to know that I have built in value already.

I’m not a huge fan of the company A-Mark precious Metals. Why? Because they are buying up smaller dealers trying to control the market on premiums. They have bought out several dealers outright, and have their hands in numerous others.

Here is a little info on them:

Founded in 1965, A-Mark Precious Metals, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMRK) is a leading fully integrated precious metals platform that offers gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bullion numismatic coins and related products to wholesale and retail customers via a portfolio of channels. The company conducts its operations through five complementary segments: Wholesale Sales & Ancillary Services (includes Logistics and Minting), Direct-to-Consumer, and Secured Lending. The company’s global customer base spans sovereign and private mints, manufacturers and fabricators, refiners, dealers, financial institutions, industrial users, investors, collectors, and e-commerce and other retail customers.

A-Mark’s Direct-to-Consumer segment provides access to a multitude of products through its wholly-owned
subsidiaries, JM Bullion, Goldline, and LPM.

JM Bullion is a leading e-commerce retailer of precious metals and operates seven separately branded, company-owned websites targeting specific niches within the precious metals market: JMBullion.com, ProvidentMetals.com, Silver.com, Gold.com, GoldPrice.org, SilverPrice.org, BGASC.com, and BullionMax.com. JMB also owns CyberMetals.com, an online platform where customers can purchase and sell fractional shares of digital gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bars in a range of denominations.

Now for the round….

Wow, it is quite the cutthroat business isn't it? I really never would have guessed. That's pretty cool that they gave you a deal on it.

Before A-Mark bought out JM Bullion they were my go to place to buy from. They had very good pricing. Now A-Mark sets the price and they keep it at the price Apmex I mean (Rapex) charges.
The only dealers I choose to use are privately owned still. Monument Metals, Bold Precious Metals and Bullion Exchange.

Interesting. My local place has been doing a lot of their own stuff lately, so I might just stick with them. Hopefully they don't get bought out. I don't think they are doing any large scale stuff though. Just reselling and then special sand mold stuff.

Now that is a stunning beauty! It's hard to find them in that condition. Very nice!

Both the coins are very special and beautiful but I always like the bird design coins.

Buying up smaller dealers is still a business strategy.
No matter how scummy and criminal it may seem its still legal 😂😂😂

It's a lovely coin though, glad you could get it cheaper ✨
