Unexpected but very interesting ….

Afternoon everyone ….

I was in a daze most of yesterday. Why you are probably asking? Well, I will explain….

Tuesday was a huge material pick up day for me. Both my furniture grade plywood order was in, ready for pick up, and my 1,400 board feet of solid furniture grade cherry was ready for pick up. I got the calls just after 11:00am.

Both of my suppliers close at 3:00pm, which normally is not an issue at all. But having to do both the same day isn’t easy.

The supplier for the plywood is about twenty five miles away from me to the southeast. So in the truck I hauled ass to the pick up. Loaded up 28 sheets of 3/4” thick 4’x8’ sheets of furniture grade plywood, and ten sheets of 1/4” thick 4’x8’ sheets. Now sweaty as hell, I have to get it back to the shop, unload it sheet by sheet into my shop.

I finally finished unloading around 1:30pm, and now had to head 47 miles northeast to get my solid lumber.

Well….

As fate would have it. There was an accident involving an overturned tracker trailer. I sat in one spot for nearly an hour. I called my supplier, to tell him I’m only 7 miles away but haven’t moved in over a half an hour.

Luckily he said no worries, when you get here pull up to the fence if we are closed an beep the horn. Charlie will come around and let you in and load you up.

That was a relief…

By the time I got back yo the shop it was after six, due to rush hour traffic. I unloaded my lumber, closed up the shop and headed to the shower. Which I was in desperate need of….

Just as I was about to hop in the shower, my friend Al called me. He said bro, George is stuck at work in the city you gotta come with me tonight. My reply is go with you where? He said I got floor seats to a concert and you are going, I’ll be there is twenty minutes to get you.

Before I could say a word, he hung up the phone. I hopped in the shower, got dressed and grabbed a quick bite to eat as Al pulled up beeping the horn.

I still had no idea who was playing yet or even where they were playing. All I knew was that I was now in Al’s tinted out pimp mobile going to a show.

Once we got on the highway, I asked who are we going to see? He said “Rammstein”. I was fuck no…..I don’t want to see them. Why the hell did you ask me? Or better yet tell me I was going? You know I don’t like them.

Too late now, he said you’re going….

The only saving grace was that he had a cooler filled with all sorts of beer and liquor. They were playing at Met Life Stadium, which is the home field for both the New York Giants and the New York Jets. Yet the stadium is in Secaucus, New Jersey. Go figure…

We get there and I immediately grab a beer, or what Al considers beer. They were Coronas, not really beer. But he also had an entire large Ice tea server filled with pre mixed Long Island ice tea. All we had to do was add a splash of coke to it.

No more Coronas for me….

I still don’t know who the opening act or acts were. We stayed in the parking lot drinking until we heard them leave the stage. Then we started our walk in.

We had just got to our seat area as the lights went out for Rammstein to come on. No seats, standing room assigned spots, we were at what turned out to be the last row before what turned into a mosh pit.

Yes, you heard me correctly a mosh pit!!!!!

Luckily I wasn’t feeling much by then, but the crazy pyrotechnics and show they put on was quite interesting. Even if their music sucks….

I tried taking pictures a bunch of times during the show. I only managed to get three pictures that weren’t blurry from someone bumping into me.

They are however really good pictures of the show.

Check out this shot of the pyrotechnics….

Here is the entire band at the end of the concert.

And this is what the stage looked like after they turned the lights on.

The mosh pit got crazy at times. Band members jumped into the crowd several times, and were body surged back to the stage again. It was mayhem most of the show.

I am however going to two concerts over the next eight days. These are shows that I want to see. I will post about those….

Fak! I would love to see rammstein. Or at least I'd like to see them play the two songs I know 😂🤣
I'm headed to the Grand Ole Opry tonight with @enginewitty to see the show.
