The official silver bullion currency of the United States is the American Silver Eagle, which was introduced in 1986 and contains 1 Troy oz of.999 pure silver. The coin's front bears Adolph A. Weinman's well-known Walking Liberty design, and its reverse bears the US heraldic shield.

The American Silver Eagle coins are the most popular silver bullion coins worldwide. Keep in mind that the only weights in which silver bullion coins are routinely offered are 1 Troy oz weights with.999 or.9999 percent pure silver content. The silver coins are produced annually as an investment-grade option.

I've been following the performance in sales of the 2022 American Silver Eagles by knowledgeable members of the precious metals community across the internet. 2022 should have made record high sales of ASEs yet it turned out over 40% lower than 2021. This being attributed to the Director of the mint not complying to a law requiring them to acquire sufficient stock to satisfy demand. Resulting in the high premium is the response to the low supply. The drop in sales is therefore due to stackers going to alternative products.
I'm happy to have at least one, always an impressive coin.

From the viewpoint of a stacker- a great addition to your stack! From the viewpoint of a collector- excellent addition to your stack. By acquiring one every year, you are building a set that in the long run, might have more value than just the fact that it's silver.
