Gold Coins and Rounds

In buying and selling bullion, the spot price for gold is the basis for all pricing.

In most cases, the final price is determined by the spot price plus the product premium.

Partly due to the US confiscating all gold currency in the 1930s, gold isn't available in 'junk' form. Older gold coins are relatively rare, and higher premiums.

There's a good chance that people who have limited capital may not be able to invest as much in gold bullion as they would like. If so, then they should stick to cheaper gold bullion products with lower premiums over spot. It offers a solid appreciation over time. This is the best hedge against inflation and is recommended by financial advisors.

Private mints generally strike gold bullion rounds, which are flat, disk-shaped pieces worth close to their melt value, and they're a popular investment because they're relatively inexpensive.

Stacking gold bullions is a lucrative opportunity during this times, but the market fluctuations sometimes create a very short time window to buy it.

Nah, buy coins every month and dollar cost average your purchases. You are ahead every time the time. This is just from one dealer:

Besides, you are saving the money you would otherwise spend on useless stuff.

It is a pretty move to buy more good coins for more profits.

I don't stack gold for profit. It is more a hedge against economic downturn. It gives me security, for as long as I am growing my stack, I am ready to meet whatever the future will bring.

I like that last pic of that prospector gold coin-a lot! Gold is a good long term investment and one we currently have for that reason. Gold is also pretty cool in general. Nothing looks quite like the real McCoy! Thanks for sharing sis!🤗😘🌸❤️

That's a gold round! A favorite design- the American Prospector- and an inexpensive round! I know that you and @silvertop are primarily gold stackers.

I see what you doing trying to put us under a gold spell, if only it could be done would be doing us a favour really, although I personally think people with very low investing capital should stick to silver much of fractional gold will kill em with the premiums

Hahaha, trying to put us under a gold spell.
I'm trying to keep my motivation up by writing about gold. But it doesn't harm if I am able to convince you of its merits!

Yes it is definitely a good idea to stick to the lower premium gold coins @silversaver888 !😀
That's one of the drawbacks of fractional gold, the smaller of the fraction, the larger the premium........

Yes, and I am glad they have gold bullions at affordable sizes! Otherwise, I will have to wait four months each time to purchase gold. Also, it has its advantages- liquidity is one.😁

You are very correct @silversaver888 , we can always sell silver bullion, but gold is much easier to store and liquidate quickly with a small amount!😀
