It is my Birthday!

Like most of you, I celebrate my birthday every year [ever since I could remember]!

Last Sunday, a few friends came over to celebrate with me. Today will be the first time ever that I am doing it solo on the actual day of my birthday.

For lunch, I grilled meat and steamed a crab!

I opened presents and cards received via the mail.

Is it also your experience that you are either sending or receiving more greeting cards via the post this year?

Here are some of the cards. I crammed what I could in one frame! Uploading photos in my blog is what takes most of my time in completing an article. How about you? What takes most of your time in writing an article?

Hi @handofzara! I am lurking but have had a terrible year since the start. Mom rushed to ER via ambulance NYE, mom diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, dog had $9k emergency back surgery for a herniated disc 2/19, mom had a grueling surgery 2/25 and still isn’t home or recovered (post op she had every complication from infection to blood clots, to pulmonary embolism 😪), pandemic, plus can’t see hospitalized mom because of pandemic, working from home since February, a friend died in March... getting furloughed for 2 weeks soon from my job at a children’s hospital with potential for layoffs later... this year... I am struggling. But thank you for being excited to see me re-emerge for a moment. 🤗

Hope 2020 is going OK for you. Cause OK seems to be the best this year can muster.

I am sorry that you are having such a rough go this year. It must be very difficult with your mom's situation. And of course the anxiety with work, the dog and the pandemic and and and . . .

I struggle every day, almost to the point of what is the point. I try to stick to a routine, sometimes the only thing I accomplish is the routine making it the only victory of the day.

For what it is worth, I will keep you and your mom in my prayers. I do seem to manage to say those every day.

I know... but whether I am eating or not, they are always just around me and staring and watching my every move! They are so adorable and loving and unconditional in the attention they seem to have for me. So... I am actually not alone... I have my Yorkies, my Guardian Angel Michelle, and the Guardian Angel of my home! COOL!!!

Yes, it has been great so far I attended the 8:30 am Mass... then dropped off a simple cake I baked for residents of a home that I usually visit/ Made my lunch and enjoyed eating it, completed this post while having coffe and now getting ready to enjoy the pool! Nah, nothing to be sorry about... I had a fabulous celebration last Sunday with friends... it was a blast! Today is a working day for many of them. Many of my birthdays in the past were workdays, and traditionally celebrated by my friends and staff from work, but of course, nowadays we all work from home. Celebration with personal friends was always on a weekend!

I am stuffed!!! For dinner, I made myself a sushi bake, and ran out of roe, LOL, I ate half of the entire 8X8 dish oh my goodness. I received a Birthday Cake gift from a friend, and I ate one fourth of the cake, eating the white chocolate Happy Birthday card first I need to run tomorrow.

Some days my phone just rings right off the holder, FTI. The best way to keep from getting called all day is to just go over and see them LOL :D

I wish I knew of a way I could accelerate my retirements, I would love to stay around 24/7 because they really need me more than ever. Any ideas are appreciated 💪😎👍

What takes to retire is money. But many say that retirement is over-rated. A lot of people who are retired go back to the work place, not because they need the money, but because they want to be useful in a way that requires them to go to work. Others find worthwhile things to do and be useful to the community without going back to work.
Yeah, what it takes is money to retire But I guess if one has a simple lifestyle, then is not really a lot of money that one needs... just enough for basic needs, including health care.
There are retirement calculators available on the web, for sure.
There are a wealth of info available on the internet... but I think the most valuable information will come from those who were able to retire early and continue to be successful during retirement.. those who are actually doing it. It is pretty much the same in stacking. The best ones to emulate are those who walk the talk.
