My 2021 Coins #13: Morgan and Peace Dollars

Do you want to see absolute beauties (to me)? And some wonder why I stack them. Not these, but the original ones! These are very special coins.

Both are commemorative coins

2021-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coin

The Morgan Silver Dollar was struck for production from 1878 to 1904, and again in 1921. The San Francisco Mint, along with the Philadelphia Mint, is the only US Mint branch to have done that. The S mint mark represents the San Francisco Mint in the circulated pieces of the Morgan Silver Dollar Coins.

The obverse of 2021-S Morgan Silver Dollars was designed by George T. Morgan and shows Liberty surrounded by 13 stars. She wears a Phrygian cap with a coronet and wreath on her head.

2021 (P) Peace Silver Dollar Coin

The United State Mint commemorates the 100th anniversary first-ever Peace Dollar with a silver coin. Lady Liberty is depicted with a towering, spiked crown reminiscent of rays of sunshine. This design is based on Anthony de Francisci's effigy of Liberty.

On the reverse side is a bald eagle as it rests on a rock inscribed with word "PEACE" against rays of sunshine rising from the lower fields of the coin. The eagle clutches an olive branch in its talons. The reverse was meant to reflect the hard-earned peace of World War I.

Daaaaamn! They are indeed beautiful. What struck me is how clean they look, like they're fresh from the mint. What do you use to clean them? I have some rare coins from around 1899 and even earlier too, but they aren't in the condition yours are.

I didn't clean these.
I don't clean my coins... except my US constitutional silver. I use a little soap and warm water.
Thank you my friend!
Take care.

mmm...this is quite interesting, I learned a lot from your article. Believe me I had no idea how extremely valuable these coins are, I've always seen them as....coins...yeah.
Thanks for changing my perspective towards these values...how come you have a whole lot of them so fresh and clean.

For best appreciation of these new coins is to already have a few examples of the original circulating coins. My retailers have yet to get them in stock just to see what they will price them at. I tend to favor the Morgan over the Peace dollar (slightly) and I think my Father liked both of them since they seemed to be the centerpieces of his US coin collection.

Always, with love 🤗🌺❤️

Yeah, they are both beautiful!!!
I prefer the Peace Dollars a lot!
I have a few Morgans, and a lot of Peace Dollars BU.
Today, I have scheduled the 2021 American Eagles
and that would conclude the 2021 Coins.
On to 2022!!!'
Hugs and kisses sis 🤗🌺❤️

I tried picking these up, but they sold out so fast. Glad you got your hands on these! Fun seeing the old designs on brand new freshly minted coins
