My Resolutions for the New Year 2024

Send handwritten letters.

This was my resolution last year, and I failed!

Although I've written notes to my friends, it was only on special occasions such as birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I will have to step up my game! It's such a sincere, considerate gesture, and very few people do it these days.

I am determined to send handwritten letters that allows me to convey a personal part of myself with others that digital interactions just cannot match in significance.

Handwritten notes hold great significance in human communication, as they are equally important as spoken words. It is a chat in slow motion that possesses all the emotion of in-person discussions, they are a direct translation of your deepest thoughts onto paper, from your hand to pen to paper to envelope to their hand.

At least one hour before going to bed, turn off the lights.

Restful sleep is essential for me. I'm find that my phone and laptop are on later and later each night. Turning off these devices in the evening is a great place to start.

Blue light emitted from phones, tablets, TVs, and other electronics decreases the creation of melatonin, which makes it harder to fall asleep. Maybe I can start using a timer to switch off electronics and lower lights at least an hour before going to bed.

As long as the lights are kept low, I can take a bath, write my letters or journal, read a spiritual book, and do my prayers with focus.

Gold and Silver Goals

I am hopeless! I can't get myself to sell my silver and convert them to gold! Maybe I should give myself more time? Or maybe I am just lazy to drive far to go to an LCS and sell my silver?

Or maybe, I just do not want to sell my silver. Why force it?

Anyway, the result is the growth of my gold holdings is slow. And I can't increase my budget for precious metals. I don't want to increase my budget for precious metals. My budget is stretched as is!!!

Goals have to be realistic and attainable.

I have not come up with a resolution that is realistic!.

I will be buying silver and will continue buying 1/4 ounces of gold.

Okay, maybe I should try buy less silver this year, and more gold. LOL!


I will buy:

  • twelve 1/4 ounce American Gold Eagles, two 1/4 ounce gold Tudor Beast coins, two pieces of pre-1933 gold, five 1/10 ounce modern world gold coins.
  • twenty 1 ounce modern silver coins, five 1 ounce silver bars, twenty 1 ounce vintage rounds/coins.



I will sell:

  • the silver the equivalent of 1 ounce American Gold Buffalo.

I think it will be a big mistake to sell your Silver for Gold... A one ounce Gold Coin will become Stable with the Spending Power of 10,000 of today's Fiat USD's... Two 1/2 ounce Silver Coins will become Stable with the Spending Power of 20,000 of today's Fiat USD's... It won't happen until Phase 3 of the U.S. Monetary Correction, but when everything is said and done, it will take 2 ounces of Gold to obtain 1 ounce of Silver...

In Phase One, the Melt Value of Silver will be $9 per ounce... In Phase Two, the Melt Value of Silver will be $90 per ounce, or 1 to 1 with Gold... Multiply these numbers by 100 to arrive at their Spending Power in today's Fiat USD's... Keep in mind that the Melt Values of Silver and Gold, will be 10% less than the Face Values of our Silver and Gold Coins...

For the electronics at night you could use smart switches to cut them off, there are models without any lights, I have some Tplink at home, control them with your cellphone and can schedule when to turn on and off, I havent though of written notes that way during this days but its true, probably its biggest value is when you open them latter down the road to remember things not just the moment you open it for the first time, happy new year ✌️

I’ve had a difficult time sleeping for decades now. Good luck with that. As for the silver selling, while I’m quite sure you cost average is doing well. With the gold price so high and the gold to silver ratio ridiculous. Now is not the time to convert silver to gold at all Saver. Right now the ratio is roughly 87-1. If it gets into the low 70’s I’d personally consider it. But in the 80’s is a complete loss of your value. You will lose money doing the swap anywhere in the 80’s. Be patient Saver, I just have a feeling that sometime this year we will have a chance to convert.

Happy New Year! Love this idea! Handed someone a hand written note the first time I met them after seeing them speak on stage and wanted to connect with him. He told me he would enjoy reading it later. Later to come to find out I was one out of just a few to give a hand written note. Seems to be a much lost art in our digital age. Still done and appreciated by some select few though.

Yeah. It is appreciated by many, but few do it. The last two years, I've been sooo pressed for time, which is why it is a resolution.

I like your goals! I have a hard time parting with my silver as well. I periodically go through mine and ask myself if I would miss it if I traded it in, and repeat that every 4-6 months.

I'm going heavy into gold this year, since I went heavy into silver last year and don't feel like I'm cheating myself.

Excellent goals! Keep on stacking and growing.

I suspect we'll all be shocked at the value of gold once all the bank vaults flood the market, as you know silver is consumed while gold is hoarded. Gold is beautiful, and I encourage stacking as much as you can, but I believe silver will be in much higher demand if everything goes haywire, it has the most to "correct". I will say that gold seems to attract more interest, if there were ever a need to sell.

The G/S ratio is 87.32 at the moment so I know this is not the basis of your trade up to gold. I would be looking for a 60 to 65 for me to pull the trigger and exchange my generic 10 troy oz. bars for a gold one.
With the worsening state of banking system I'm get a feeling of urgency to step things up in both PMs. Two local bank branches I use in my town just closed up.

Have a more than comfortable level of cash elsewhere and at a bank, and continue your traditional investments. Then you can pour everything into precious metals and crypto. That's how we want it, sis! No secrets here, hahaha. Good luck, too, sis!

I wish you the best @silversaver888 in attaining your goals! I know that you can do it! Letter writing, let alone cursive letter writing is definitely a dying art. I understand they no longer even teach cursive writing in school. So sad!

As for the silver thing-I can understand how hard it would be to let go and sell it for gold. You've spent time collecting them and they probably all have some kind of emotion attached to them. Therefore, I think planning to buy more gold than silver might just be the ticket!

See... you know exactly how I feel!!! After all, I just don't buy silver coins... they have got to be pretty! I just don't buy silver rounds... they are vintage silver rounds, or special! But I don't overspend on them; they have to meet my price points. None of my silver is wasteful spending. So, buying more gold may do the trick. I won't be looking al the silver section, hehehe! How I wish!!! 🤪

I think your goal of turning lights off when an hour before bed is a smart idea, I would have difficult with that unfortunately Liz and I stay up way too late Lol!😇
Let us know if you get that gold buffalo, it’s one of Liz’s favorite coins! It is very difficult to trade silver good luck. I’m not very good at either Lol!🙄

Happy New Year @silversaver888, I know you can do it! And I have to say, the resolution I loved most was your intention to send handwritten letters! I used to do this all the time. I had some code language with one friend, and with another friend, we sent each other handwritten letters all the time. It was such a party when the postmen delivered a new letter. Now I can hardly remember seeing any handwritten letter, even Christmas cards are often not handwritten.

P.S. I'm impressed by the gold coins in the picture!
